A Couple Message Tips and Tricks

You can easily include a hyperlink within your message. The trick is to make sure you prefix the URL with http://

(Note: our software will automatically truncate the URL name, for display purposes only, at the first forward-slash after the domain name.)

You could also add a mailto link to your message by typing in your e-mail address... Before you do this, please consider that you'll probably will get a mailbox full of “spam” e-mails. Some of the spammers have gotten pretty sophisticated, and developed computer programs that automatically surf the internet looking for new e-mail addresses to add to their mailing lists.

There are several useful "BBcode" tags for changing the appearance of text. They're demonstrated and listed below.
(When you actually use them, remove the extra spaces between the square brackets and the code letters.)

Boldface: Enclose your text with [ b ] and [ / b ]

Italics: Enclose your text with [ i ] and [ / i ]

Underline: Enclose your text with [ u ] and [ / u ]

Quotations: To make quotations really stand out... enclose them with [ quote ] and [ / quote ].

Quote:
Be the change you want to see in the world.

Horizontal Rule: Place a horizontal line in your post with [ hr ]

Want to insert a table into your message? I set up this message board to allow some HTML tricks.

Here's a big hint what the proper syntax for a table would look like...

With a little cutting, pasting, and some very minor editing, this:

Quote:
<table border="3">
<tr> <td></td> <td>column 1</td> <td>column 2</td> <td>column 3</td> </tr>
<tr> <td>row1</td> <td>A</td> <td>B</td> <td>C</td> </tr>
<tr> <td>row2</td> <td>D</td> <td>E</td> <td>F</td> </tr>
<tr> <td>row3</td> <td>G</td> <td>H</td> <td>I</td> </tr>
</table>

...will create a table that look like this:

column 1column 2column 3
row 1ABC
row 2DEF
row 3GHI

Other HTML commands can be used to change alignment of data within the table cells, etc.
