Picture Insertion Options

If you want to mess around with the new message board software a little bit... this is a great place to start. You can post here (I think) in the "test message forum" even without having a log-in ID set up yet. Of course, if you log-in there are more different options.

A couple things to note:

You'll be able to use BBcode here... for example, putting "[img]" and "[/img]" should let you display a picture file that is stored somewhere else on the internet.

You'll also be able to include jpg or gif file attachments (for photos on your own harddrive, for example)... four pictures per message!

Here's an example:

Bill Yobi...
AutoX-BillYobi.jpg

Cade Schafer...
AutoX-CadeSchafer.jpg

Carl Floyd...
AutoX-CarlFloyd.jpg

Dale Knapke

Use this trick to adjust the size of the pic you just linked.

< img width="600" src="http://www.motorstown.com/newsImages/chevrolet-camaro-convertible-1.jpg" />

Remove the space after < The number 600 can be changed to suit. Any number between 300 to 600 works well within the forum.

Here's are two more tricks for impressing your message board friends!

(1) Link text can be descriptive! (This encourages people to "click" on them.)

The syntax for inserting a descriptive text hyperlink looks like this:

{a href="http://www.britishv8.org"}put your descriptive text here{/a}

To make this work, just replace the "{" symbol with "<" and the "}" symbol with ">".

In context, the result will look like this: put your descriptive text here

Nifty, huh?

(2) You can also make an image function as a hyperlink.

This is what the code syntax looks like:
{a href="http://www.britishv8.org"}{img src="http://www.britishv8.org/Banner9.gif"}{/a}

Again, you'll have to replace the "{" symbol with "<" and the "}" symbol with ">".

Here - test the results - go ahead and "click" on the picture!
