Re: Better Late Than...
That was a fantastic way for me to spend a Friday evening, I got so carried away reading the superb articles that it's now 02:00am here in the UK!
The EX186 prototype is a thing of absolute beauty, I dream of owning a piece of history like that one day and becoming a part of it's ongoing story. Thank you Curtis, very impressive work. |

Re: Better Late Than...
Thanks for the very kind and encouraging comments, gentlemen.
You can do me a big favor: recommend your favorite articles to friends and acquaintances! For example, placing links on other message boards will help introduce BritishV8 and BritishRaceCar to the broader audience we need to keep growing. Re: EX186... I couldn't agree more! Can you imagine how exciting and how daunting it must have been to discover that long lost jewel? (The metal was straight, but some key parts were scattered and had to be hunted back down.) The Gundersons were very kind to invite me to their home to discuss the history of the car, plus I'm fortunate to have been able to photograph EX186 on three or four occasions. I'm pretty sure we're the first publication to display detailed photos of EX186's construction (e.g. belly pans, its unique suspension, etc.) There's quite a lot more to the car's story... but that's for Joe and Cathy to tell. They hope to publish a whole book about the restoration process, and they've collected quite a lot of supporting material. |
