Re: British V8 2010 - Save the Date! - July 2010
Rick,
We're all looking forward to the meet this year with great anticipation but I do have one question. Thursday's activities are listed as visiting the O'Reilly Raceway Park for "the road course". I've never been there but from what I see using Google Earth, there appears to be just the drag strip and the oval track. Other than the autocross, is there something else available there? |

Re: British V8 2010 - Save the Date! - July 2010
Ken, I checked both Google maps and map quest. Both show the complete layout if you use the aerial view. Check for Indianapolis Raceway Park, that will get you the results I found and show that it's now called O'Reilly Raceway Park.
There's a drag strip, oval track, and a road course on the grounds, with the main straight of the road course running along the drag strip. It should be quite a day with some good laps behind the pace car based on your ability and car prep as well as some good autocross in the afternoon. Edited 1 time(s). Ken,
2.5 mile road course. Unlike VIR, pretty flat. It's Indiana, what do you expect? [www.na-motorsports.com] "It should be quite a day with some good laps behind the pace car based on your ability" Say What?! |

Did I miss something, or are y'all not taking registrations, yet? Time to start taking some money.

Maybe this year's meet is just going to be a "HAPPENING". The 3 stooges have gotten the arrangements, etc, but there bound to be expenses. seems like we should be sending them some money, but who and how much? Well, they will let us know. See you all there!

Carl, et al....
We've had some REALLY SLOW responders to contracts....and I cannot put a registration form out there until we know exactly what things are gonna cost. I anticipate hearing from the final venue this week....(we talked to them on the phone on Monday) and we should be able to have the registration form out next week....it's finished except for plugging in the individual activity (ala carte) fees. Re: British V8 2010 - Save the Date! - July 2010
Rick,
I'm assuming that the O’Reilly Raceway Park road course will require a helmet and rollbar if you have a roadster. Is that correct? Thanks! -- Scott |

Re: British V8 2010 - Save the Date! - July 2010
We know that a helmet will be required....other safety equipment such as roll bars, hardtops, catch cans, etc are still being discussed with ORP.
I recommend that you sign up for the track session if you are leaning that way now....we can work with you should we be given unrealistic safety requirments. |

Re: British V8 2010 - Save the Date! - July 2010
We met today with the member of the Champaign County Sports Car Club who will be in charge of the autocross.
We will have an interesting, fun course for you...we have a LOT of room available, so it will not be like the autocrosses of years past, where we had to contend with traffic islands. |

Re: British V8 2010 - Save the Date! - July 2010
Registration for BritishV8 2010 is still open - registration fee is $75.
Karting is about full, but all other activities (autocross, road course, IMS tour, banquet, etc) is still available. You can still get a room at the Clarion...but it will cost you a bit more. Please advise the hotel staff that you are with BritishV8 2010 so that we can get credit for your hotel room against our contractual minimum! |
