UHMMM....
Can some one, very slowly and carefully explain to me how to resize my pictures to fit here.
Please understand that I am a technological wizard. I know that the computator is in the room near the garage and that it is turned on. People say that I amaze them every day. You know, with breathing and everything. Cheers Fred |

Re: UHMMM....
Fred,
I'm using Picasa and in it, I have an Export option. When exporting, I can resize the photo. 1024 seems to be a good selection for this forum. I usually export the photo to a folder titled Temp on my desktop, (easy to find). When you want to attach a photo to your post, just browse to the file in that Temp folder and you're all set. Good luck, Ken |

Re: UHMMM....
Ivor,
That method of using the photo sharing sites work fine but there are more steps involved which can be a consideration if you're posting hundreds of photos as in a project journal ....... |

Re: UHMMM....
I use irfaview.com. Freeware! Download and set your computer defaults video to irfanview. Go back to irfanview homepege, download the plugin from plugins menu on left side of homepge. Find the plugin that has RIOT in it's list? When you save a pic with irfan it will give you a menu on the right side of main menu. Select what you want. I use 500 mb. Works for me.

Re: UHMMM....
Here's another way to get smaller picture files if you're using a windows PC.
Look to see if you have a "snipping tool" in your start bar or program list. It is a standard microsoft tool that I see on every computer I use. If you don't have it, google it and try to get it from microsoft. Use the windows snipping tool as follows: Open your photo to view it on your screen however you wish. Hit the "Start" button (lower left corner of windows screen) Select "snipping tool" from your menu A little dialog box will open up and your screen will go gray. Drag a box around the area you want to make a picture of. The area you selected will pop into a new box. You can then save the content of your new box as a picture (file, save) It will be a small file that you can upload here. |
