I was told that the "Prepared" class was the largest class of cars (29 cars) on the showfield.

Re: a bast**d club in French lick MG 2014
Home!
We got home from MG2014 about 2:45pm CDT today (Thursday)....***almost*** without incident. The car ran great....until we were 1/2 mile from home. But if one is going to break down, this is the best place to do so! Something in the rear suspension broke...similar to the Roadmaster breakdown last year in Indianapolis...but I've not put the car on the lift yet to see what happened...the suspension dropped down allowing the right rear tire to shift outward and foul on the fender lip. I limped the car to the barn...and will look into just WTF happened tomorrow. We had a great time in French Lick and will have many good memories for years to come! Safety/Faster! |

Made it home with out incident. 750 miles round trip. Hit some wet roads, but no rain. It's a shame. I wanted to test out Mike Moor's latest revision of his windshield deflector.
Otherwise, it was top down & commando all the way baby! :) |

690 miles for me. Top up and AC on all the way. Ran into a torrential downpour about 5 miles from home, which ended as I turned into my driveway. Car ran flawlessly. Much better than I did - I'm getting too old for this s##t.
Sorry I missed the photo session, but it was great seeing everyone again. |

Re: a bast**d club in French lick MG 2014
I bent one top link and fractured the other one on the GT on the trip home. I had a complete failure just 1/2 mile from home.
The Travel Gods were with me. Too many speed bumps and rough railroad crossings. The top links were hitting the bolts that were used to install my interior roll bar. I didn't even think of the clearance needed at the time. New top links are in order and shorter bolts for the roll bar...and I will be increasing the ride height of the cars as well. C'est la vie. |

Re: a bast**d club in French lick MG 2014
Rick,
You are one lucky bast**d to be that close to home! The Road Gods were watching over you. It looks like a pretty easy fix. My dimmer switch broke on the way home, leaving the brights on until I stuffed a paper wad behind the stem. War wounds and stories to tell. Gotta love a road trip! Mike |

Re: a bast**d club in French lick MG 2014
The MG Boxer got a new alternator out of the trip to French Lick. I spent about 4 hours in lovely New Albany, Indiana on Wednesday, messing around with O'Reilly's and finally going to NAPA and waiting for one to come from the Louisville warehouse. Very friendly folks at the parts stores in New Albany, and many customers loved the V-6 conversion. One gentleman showed me a picture of his Cub Cadet with a Corvair motor in it. He also said he has a '48 Suburban with a 4.3 that gets 30mpg.
