Check this out...
Local "club" my son & I are members of called "West Houston Muscle" -- which, believe it or not is a lot like Bv8 in that the name doesn't really represent what it is -- as West Houston Muscle caters to any/all cool cars from muscle cars to hot rods to odd balls like my MG -- and, there are no dues, just car shows, rod runs, & occasionally charity events -- well, they recently posted on their web site to post a pic of your ride for a chance @ tickets to the Grand Prix of Houston... so i posted a pic of Drew's Mustang and a few days later we found we were one of the 4 winners. Two tickets to the Friday activities... then, on Father's day, my wife gave me 3 tickets to Sunday! So, get to go with Drew on Friday & with both boys on Sunday.

Re: Check this out...
The event is June 27-29; will take plenty of pics & video. The cool thing is the seats we have on Friday are in a different grandstand than the ones on Sunday so we'll get two different vantage points.

Re: Check this out...
Had a great day with my son. Weather p predicted rain, but except about a 5 minute sprinkle, it held off all day....
Today was just practice, Sunday is the real races. There were Mazda Spec Pro cars, Indy cars, MX5's, and "vintage" - but there was. 2012 Mustang on the track with the vintage cars. Look close at this one - front and rear left tires in the air... |

Some more...
Met a great racer named Andrew Robertson and his dad (Jim I think). Andrew is only 20 but man, was he quick. He is driving the Caterham 7. 1460 lbs with a 2.0L Ford Zetec.... He has been on the podium 20 of 24 starts with 10 of those wins... And yes, Curtis, I did tell him about BritishRacecar.com. Edited 1 time(s). Last edit at 06/27/2014 10:55PM by rficalora. |
