Pikes Peak Toll road rules
We had a death Sunday during the Pikes Peak Hill Climb event. That got me thinking that I should post the rules for the toll road. Although it is within the Pike National Forest the toll road is owned and maintained by the City of Colorado Springs. Here are the rules from their web page regarding the toll road.
--------------- To make your trip more pleasant, review these hints and techniques. Take your time and enjoy the drive. The trip to the summit and back is 38 miles. Please plan on a minimum of 2-hours for the round trip drive and have at least a half of tank of gas. We recommend that you drive up to the summit and save picture stops and points of interest for the drive down, this will be easier on your vehicle.

Re: Pikes Peak Toll road rules
I went to Pikes Peak last year. Watched some practicing the day before the race and the race. It is uncomfortable where the spectators are in many places. I sat on a big rock I could get behind. Cold in the morning.
If you mess up at pikes peak, especially at altitude, you become an airplane without wings! |
