NEEDED ...2 Valves for a Rover 3.5 engine/cylinder head rebuild
For want of a valve ..... actually for want of 2 intake valves for my 3.5 size Rover engine, I'm not going to be ready
for the SCCA "Major" at Heartland Park/Topeka next weekend. Bummer. I've finished all sorts of tweaks on the Rover MG RV8 GT2 car ..... and get foiled by 2 lousy 3.5 Rover intake valves. The machinist at Nolands Cylinder Head shop Kansas City - Jim Duncan - created 2 beautiful ported/polished/flowed/cc'd/ and intake manifold matching Rover cylinder heads for me. All set to go ... to transform performance with my 3.5 Rover. FYI ..... the SCCA makes me use the 3.5 size Rover engine. But after sizing the intake valves - measuring 1.57 inches wide at base and 4.59 inches long - two were discovered to be be just ever so slightly defective. Immediately I go to my nearby Rover dealer .... to be told with a laugh ...."that Valve is nearly 50 years old. We don't stock those old 3.5 and 3.9 and 4.0 parts. Haven't for years. Call British Rover North in New York. Maybe they can get you those old valves". British Rover North in New York told me they can order them out of London. Anybody in the British V8 Pub have 2 Intake valves on hand ? Hope so. Let me know. Keep them on the track phillip g |

Ok, so you're not allowed oversize valves, on standard centerlines ? roverman.
