Spurites participate in Eric's Memorial River Run
Well two of them anyway, maybe Scott will post a photo.
I met up with him and the rest of the group at Bob Evan's at Springtown Rd just outside the Columbus beltway and we proceeded to terrorize the rural Ohio back roads. Well, not terrorize exactly. The Gendarmes were out in force. I lost count so early in the day it wasn't worth trying to keep track of them. So we had a nice uneventful drive in near perfect weather, the cars ran flawlessly and all was right with the world. Now Ohio is mostly laid out on the grid pattern so you have to get off the grid to find good scenic routes and this was the plan. I found Rt 41 to be quite enjoyable and 247 dropping down the escarpment (what there is of it) to the Ohio river valley is even better though not as long. We had a nice BBQ sandwich in Maysville and parted ways with Scott heading out on the afternoon's section. I headed for home since that put me at about 300 miles for the day and as the longest trip on the car since its powertrain upgrade I felt that was enough now. I just got back and sat down in air conditioned comfort and thought I'd share. Jim |

Jim, it was a lot of fun. Really enjoyed lunch too. We somehow missed the rain although I went through a section in the afternoon where it had just stopped raining.
This first picture shows Jim's car attracting attention like it normally does. :) It was a big hit with the crowd! Two old guys having fun |
