Congratulations to Carole and Terry Looft for being named as recipients of NAMGBR's "Good Samaritan Award" for 2018.

Terry and Carole own a 1976 factory MGB/GT V8 in addition to MANY other MGs.

Below was the submission of recommendation to NAMGBR Executive Officers:
******************************************************************************************

Terry and Carole Looft

The morning that BritishV8 was to begin (July 12th), Al Wulf of Colorado suffered a heart attack and was hospitalized in Dayton following surgery. (He and his wife, Patty, remain in Dayton today (July 24th) as his Dayton cardiologist wanted him to have a followup appointment today before releasing him to travel home.

The Loofts offered to store Al's truck, trailer, and MGB...inside...at one of their properties until it could be picked up (probably this week by another MG enthusiast, John Fraoli of Colorado who is flying out to Dayton to drive the rig back to Denver) The Loofts have also offered to pick up John at the airport when he arrives.

Carole spent time with Al's wife, Patty, during Al's surguries (he had two on different days).

This unselfish act by the Loofts most certainly eased some of the anxieties being experienced by both Al and Patty over the past two weeks.

There were many individuals who stepped forward during the Wulf's misfortune in Dayton...the Hagens, the Maloneys, the Grannis', the Ingrams, and many of the Spuriites. They are all Good Samaritans in my book.

Well done, Spuriites!

Also kudos out to John Fraoli on being named "Enthusiast of the Year". John is from Colorado, owns a V6 conversion, and flew to Dayton to drive the Wulf's truck, trailer, and V8 home to Colorado for them. He is also very active in the Moss Motoring Challenge as well as within the MGCC Rocky Mountain Centre.

Al couldn't have been in better hands. The BritishV8 community really stepped up to help out. Congratulations to Terry and Carole for the award, but also big thanks for hosting us all!
