Re: British V8 2011 attendance roster
Heh Joe, we missed not having you there. This is two years in a row now. I think we should have a casual gathering in September in around the West Virginia area that would be easy reach for you and other northerners.

Re: British V8 2011 attendance roster
I think that's a good idea Ken, but we'll have to get Dan on board with it.

Re: British V8 2011 attendance roster
Thanks Dan
Yes I am sure I would of had a ball. The weather up here wasn't great and I had to work in it. Anymore I think the meet would have to be in Jan-March for me to be able to get away from work. The last 2 years I have had a job going that I couldn't get away from to make the meet. Maybe its time for me to retire as work keeps getting in the way of my fun I was really hoping it would work out this year but as you well know it didn't Joe Edited 1 time(s). Re: British V8 2011 attendance roster
We might be able to do something, Ken. I'll have to see what the fall schedule looks like. I know there is a BIG hot rod event in Charleston in October.

Re: British V8 2011 attendance roster
Dan,
I just looked at the schedule of events at the Charleston show and it has quite a line up: Hydraulic jumping and leaping for the Lowriders Burnout event Flamethrowing contest And that's just a short list. On the way home from Nashville, passing through West Virginia, Katie and I camped at Chief Logan State Park, then headed up past Holly River State Park. Both have excellent driving roads in the area. |

Date: May 26, 2011 08:16PM The "wish I could have made it" list: 1. Joe Schafer 2. Pete Mantell You would have had a ball, Joe, cold and wet and all. Dan, you can add me to that list too. Unfortunately it wasn't possible once the decision was made to list the house for sale and build a new, smaller home. Going to be a very busy summer as I'm going to be the general contractor on the new house. I've been checking out all the photos and comments and it looks like you had a great time. Got to make it next year................2300 miles to Palestine, TX. The route to Texas will pass near Townsend so should get a chance to experience the Dragon, Cade's Cove and all the other great drives in the area. Texas will be like a homecoming for the MG. I bought it out of a warehouse in Austin where it had spent the previous 12 years. Edited 1 time(s). Last edit at 05/27/2011 08:29PM by britcars. |
