British Car Show Variety

Posted this on that "other" site:

One of our club members held his 9th annual Gourmet & Company car show last night in conjunction with the Drive Your British Car Week. We meet in the parking lot of his daughter's restaurant, hang out for an hour or so, then go in an have dinner.

Twenty British cars showed up in spite of the threatening skies. It did start raining about 7pm & the TF was driven home in the rain with no side curtains.

Check out the variety:

2 '63 MGBs, 2 MGB LEs, my MGB V8, a few more RB MGBs, a TD, a TF, a TR6, a '57 Jag 140 drop head coupe, an E-Type Jag roadster, a V12 XJS coupe, a plain jaine XJS, a brand new, still for sale by the dealer Jag S-Type, a Morgan +8, AND...... an Aston Martin DB9!

What a turnout!

Curtis,

I snapped some pics of the +8 for ya.

Actually, the car show (just a gathering, really) was in Johnson City. Kingsport, Johnson City, & Bristol are about 20 miles apart from each other & are know as the Tri-Cities.

I certainly DO like the Morgan photos - a VERY nice car, well photographed! I'd like to use them in a future article, but since they show a relatively late Morgan (with 4.0 EFI engine, etc.) they don't really suit my immediate need. If you think of it, could you please burn me a CD-ROM sometime? If you see the Morgan's owner again, mention that we'd love to have all the specs of his car to complete a Photo Gallery entry. The "How It Was Done" template provides a good starting point. We've used it to document other "factory" V8 models, including a Jensen Interceptor, an Aston-Martin V8, three MGB GT V8's, an MG ZT-T, Triumph TR8's and Stags, etc.
