Yes, I included the V6s this time, we're actually seening quite a few these days.
For those of you that didn't get the latest on next year's meet, here are a few of the planned activities.
Track time on the road course at Mid America Motorplex! Similar to Indy, but much more wide open and good run off areas.
Autocross so that we all can again test our skills against Carl ! LOL
Visit to the Smith Collection and Museum, Lincoln, Nebraska and Speedway Automotive Parts.
Tech session with sample cars from Shell Valley Kit Cars, Cobras and Jag C types are two of their styles.
Tour of sports car restoration and race prep shop.
Go Kart racing, indoor track.
Possible visit to SAC museum.
Other activities for the ladies, yet to be determined.

For those travelling by way of KC, the Heartland MG Regional show is the Saturday before and a great event, would make a nice break in your travels as well.

Anyway that is the plan for now, hope to be able to fill in a few more blanks this fall and have a lot more details.
Still working on a logo for the event, anyone with any artistic ability, we'd be glad to see your ideas.
So far I'm thinking of trying to combine the old Mutual of Omaha Wild Kingdom logo with our V8s. Omaha's Wild V8 Kingdom.

Tentative dates will be June 10-11-12 that's a Monday through Wednesday. Might have to shift to 12-13-14 to accomodate MAM, but don't think so at this time. We'll have firm dates in the fall for sure.

What's the interest in having more Dyno runs in Omaha? If there are enough people interested I'll look into setting something up for you. I also have a set of race scales so we can weigh cars if we want. Might not take a big Jag sedan though, limited to 1100 pounds per pad.

Scales are great. Dyno runs are good too -- I wonder if we could incorporate some Dyno tuning sessions rather than just WOT runs. Maybe even arrange to have some jets & other parts to make changes... ok, I know I'm asking a lot. Maybe a mix of WOT & Cruise mode runs?

Maybe I'll know how to work my o2 meter by then. :)

I would definitely donate $ to get (& adjust) corner weights before a track session or before Carl beats me on the autocross course. I would probably do the dyno again too. I'll bring my Holley jets and power valves too.

Phil, just bring the right fuel pump! I'll bring the scales then, defintely something we could do at the motel in the evening I'd think If I can leave the Irish alone long enough to read the scales! ;-)

Level parking lot would be good. ;)

I'm certainly planning on being there. Scales and dyno runs are a bonus! Maybe Carrick will have his linkage set to enable full throttle by then.....

C'mon now, Omaha's not THAT level! Kudos to Bill, I think the planned activities sound great. The Speedway museum is reportedly fantastic, I'm ashamed to admit I haven't been. And don't forget to bring your parts list as their parts counter is a fun way to save shipping costs.

If there is time and anyone is looking for something to do, the SAC museum is amazing if you like military planes (who doesn't?) and the Henry Doorly Zoo was just rated the top zoo in the country. Also for any baseball junkies the College World Series starts June 15th, probably want to be out of town by then unless you want to stay for a game or two. On that topic, I would venture a guess that you'll want to reserve your hotel room early as the CWS brings tons of people to town and some probably come early. There's also a huge little league tournament in town around the same time.

Now, back to work on the Hillman so I actually have something to drive to this event....

No, actually Omaha isn't level at all on account of its on the river. Lovely city. My drive across Nebraska for 360 miles to get to Omaha will seem pretty level though, especially until Lincoln. I'll just keep telling myself that it's really a long downhill run. (Works one way, anyhow.)

We drove through Omaha on our way home from MG2011 last June.

The College World Series was underway.

There wasn't a hotel room to be found within an hour of Omaha...and the one that we found was $$$.

So....take advantage of the hotel room block that Bill will have arranged for this event!

Phil Leonard's RV8 raced at MAM a couple of weeks ago and Scott has posted video of the race. You can see how wide open the track is, no walls to hit or anything like that so we should have some good safe fun there.

I'm in Lincoln at the moment, with my MG. Apparently I made a bad decision the other day about which gasoline to buy. I should have known something was wrong when the high octane gas here was cheaper than the low and mid grades. Bought some, and it's percolating like crazy. VERY, VERY rough at idle and at off-throttle. Hopefully that will clear up in one or two hundred miles when I use this tankful up. Wishing I had fuel injection already...
