Informal get-together in Townsend.
Arrive Friday, Oct 5, leave Sunday, Oct 7, at the Tally Ho Inn. A (very) limited number of rooms are available (October is the peak fall color viewing season), so reserve early. Mention British V8 (or Jim Watson) when making your reservations at the Tally Ho.
As before in 2008 - no plans, no registration, no fees, no organization, no schedule, just get together and have fun. No guarantees, but the weather should be fine - warm days and cool evenings. Hopefully, lots of color. For sure, lots of fun driving. Tally Ho Inn: [www.talleyhoinn.com] 1-800-448-2465 See you here! Dan and Jim |

Re: Informal get-together in Townsend.
I checked. Jim Watson has the big house, no idea what he plans for the spare rooms. I reserved the A frame though. Should be a few spare beds but not enough for the whole crew I'm afraid. We'll just have to see what we can work out. I should know more about who is coming with me in a few days.
They said something about switching fields for parking, over by the tennis courts. So the A frame may now be a little out of the way. But the cottage up front was still available. Jim |

Re: Informal get-together in Townsend.
Houses getting rented left & right. Got a msg from Rich Moor. The Moors & Carricks have the other house. Sounds like they are expecting me. Guess I may have to make the loooong drive down to Townsend. ;) Might ride the Harley.
Not sure why we need either show field for parking. |

Re: Informal get-together in Townsend.
Sounds busy. We may have to help Jim Watson fill up the big house. Maybe Steve and Margaret might want in on that, and a few others. Looks like I have Edith, Matthew, Dan, my sister Martha (you guys are going to love her) her husband Chreed, and possibly Dave, Dan's wife Pam and maybe one to three of my neices. So potentially it could be a full house.
Iirc they claimed the big house can sleep 14 but truthfully I can't see it. Probably 8-10 is more realistic. But it is a real good deal by the time you split up the cost. Looks like we have the makings for a real nice party. Jim |

Re: Informal get-together in Townsend.
Jim,
Are you talking about the white house up by the parking lot? If so, here's the layout: Main floor has two bedrooms, each with a private bath. One has a double (or queen or king - can't remember which, probably king) bed, and one has two double (Q/K?) and two twin beds. There is a kitchen and a living room also. Upstairs has two bedrooms, one with two double (Q/K?) and one with a single double (Q/K?) There is a shared half-bath down the hall with no tub or shower. That sleeps 14 comfortably (depending on how well they like each other). The sofa in the living room also makes into a bed (I think). Looks like we're going to have a good turnout. Ted and Judy are coming. Who else? |

Re: Informal get-together in Townsend.
Informal Gathering. How much more informal can we be, I thought we were naturally informal and only a loose structure of what is expected at a gathering. Yea, if it feels good, do it! See you'all in Townsend. Guess Shreveport was a Warm-up for Townsend?

Jim Watson wants a head count. The Tally Ho would like him to release the remainder of the rooms. Post away.

The weatherman is predicting nice weather for the weekend. Partly cloudy to sunny, highs in the low to mid 70s, lows in the low to mid 50s, with 10-20 % chance of rain.
Bring a hoodie, put the top down, and come on down! See you all Friday! |
