Google search box at the top of this page...

Has this feature stopped working for you lately?

I installed a Google search box in the banner at the top of all BritishV8 pages back on January 4, 2007. It's worked almost flawlessly ever since, until sometime this past week or so. Now I don't get any results.

However, I do get BritishV8 specific search results when I re-enter my search term in the search box on the BritishV8 search results page. (In that case, the search results include thumbnail images... which is apparently a new feature that Google has recently added.)

Curiously, the Google search box at the top of BritishRacecar seems to be working fine.

Please help me troubleshoot this. Does the search box at the top of the page work for you? Is this a browser-specific problem? Do you note any interesting behaviors which might help me isolate the problem?

In Safari on most recent Mac OS entering anything in the search box flips you to the search page. Same behavior using Chrome and FireFox. is that what you want it to do? Seems like a term entered in the box should yield a result. No?

So you're seeing what I'm seeing.

Until recently, searching from the top of the page did yield results immediately. However, a new search box appeared at the top of the search results where you could refine your search by entering a revised keyword combination or by selecting between three options: main site only, forum only, or all the web.

Okay... I'm going to try uploading new and different Google code on the message board right now.

See how the new search results page doesn't have a search box at the top? When I put one there, it crashes. Except for that, I guess it works okay. Comments?

I don't have a PC or a smart phone handy to test this stuff with today - just my trusty Mac laptop - so your comments will be very helpful. What are you seeing on your screens?

Curtis,
Search seems pretty quick and the results were pretty much what I would expect. This is outside of any seaches but I am getting what looks like php errors when I go into a thread. I'm using IE 8 at the moment.

Works on my Mac laptop (old) using an outdated version of Safari.

Fast search results combining web & forum info using IE8 & Firefox 19.0.2

No refined search box with either browser.

Curtis,

Some additional info re Firefox Enterprise Edition, now I can not see the search box at all.

I looked at the site using Firebug. I moved the pointer over the area where the box should be. In the code box, div id=banner gets highlighted. I can see div id=search but I can't get it highlighted. Z index issue?

BTW doing a page reload via CTL-F5 doesn't help either.

Rob,
