Autocross Videos from the 2008 British V8 Meet
Posted by: harv8

The camera was running all morning at the autocross event so just about everybody who drove the course has been recorded.
I have uploaded a few clips on "You Tube" and will add more over the next few days. Let me know if you prefer your car not be shown. Search "British V8 Wisconsin" to find the clips.

Please, post my car.

Who drove the 1.8L MGB that took a faster time then mine? I am sure it was no longer powered by the single carb, but would like to know what they did to it. Excellent driver for sure! My Dad was pleased that a 4 cylinder MGB beat me. Now he thinks he still has a chance, although today I did leave my B with him for a day. No comments were left with me, but my brother heard!

Brian,
That would be Max Fulton. Max took me on the track at Nelson's Ledges at last year's British V8 show in his 4 banger - he was faster than some V8's which goes to show that driving skill has it's place.
Max is also organizing next years's event in Raleigh-Durham.

Max and Carl both seem to feel that it's more fun to wring every last iota of performance from the chassis than it is to add power with a big motor. And they're good at it. For LeMans I'd want them on my team.

I'll agree with getting performance from the chassis and with the exception of this car, have always started with suspension first.

And as far as Max's driving- Good driving Max!

This is the sort of stuff that will get us through the long winters in Minnesota where we have to drive Saturn's and other front wheel drive vehicles.

Was lots of fun! I think it was Carl that came up to me and told me I was in the "SOB" class... Made me laugh, then he told me SOB stood for "Some Other Brand" making me laugh even more :-)

Rick,
No we got home fine. I re-did the install to a slightly better position and bought an exact replacement, so if I have trouble again, it will be easy to fix.
Advnce refunded my money on the Mr. Gasket pump that lasted 1.5 days.

Steve
