Bill Young improving
a message from a good friend of Bill Young, Don Bonar
8/11/13 Just finished a conversation with Jenny (11:59 AM).... Bill shows some improvement and is back breathing on his own, alert and can communicate in some form. She reports he is now complaining about lack of food and the temp in the ICU room... sounds like improvement to me! They have also spotted a blockage on the small intestine and will do more scans plus introduce a trial of semi-solid foods to determine if his body can absorb in that form. Until now all food has come via inter-envious feedings. Pancreas still not functioning normally but "calmer" that previously observed. Jenny seems (as usual) calm and strong... says she is eating/sleeping well and got out of the hospital Sat to mow yards, shop and rest. Solid as a rock. I'll continue to pass along any new info as I receive. Keep those positive thoughts rolling. Don B. Wonderful news ! keep them on the track phillip g Edited 1 time(s). Re: Bill Young improving
I've received another update from Jennie (via Don) and again it's GOOD news!
Bill is regaining strength. Today he was able to eat solid foods - chicken, veggies, and mashed potatoes - and he was also able to sit up and dangle his feet over the side of his bed. He's still in ICU and of course he still has pancreatic cancer, but his spirits are improving with his strength and energy level. Keep Bill and Jennie in your thoughts. |

Re: Bill Young improving
(update from Jennie via Don Bonar)
As of September 12: Bill moved from the ICU to a rehab facility this past Monday. He is walking every day, slowly and with the aid of a walker. Bill's appetite is good, his mental condition is strong and clear, and his spirits are high! If you'd like to send Bill a personal message, a written note to his home is best. Jennie will deliver the mail. Bill doesn't currently have access to his laptop, and there will be a mountain of unread e-mail to sort out when he does get to it. He'd like to hear from you, but don't expect an immediate reply. His address is: Bill Young 357 S. Anderson Kechi, KS 67067 (edited to correct the spelling of Bill's town, "Kechi") Edited 1 time(s). Re: Bill Young improving
Thanks Curtis,
I wanted to inquire about Bill but I figured news would come in as it's available. And it has. Will send a note to Bill tonight. So glad to hear that he's getting stronger. Thanks again Cheers Fred |

Re: Bill Young improving
This is my first time back online and I'm truely touched by the comments and support. I'm still in rehab but will be going home on Tuesday. Still a lot of recovery to do but I plan on being back on the projects as soon as possible.
