Quote: Yeah Curtis. One small thing to do first. Hypnotize the wife and convince her that it is a good thing to go a few months without pay. Then, while I have her under, talk her into riding around in "that uncomfortable, hot, loud MG" (her words) or that it would be a good idea that I should go alone while she stays home to stare at the four walls. :) Seriously, I'd love to do something like that. Maybe after I retire. I was thinking you hit a lot of states this summer.....amazing! Ken, great picture of Katie nose to nose with GW! |

Curtis, I admire your determination and "drive". Some great photos. Only two provinces and one state for me this year.......way too much going on in our lives and the lives of our children and grandchildren!

Re: Let's Win Moss Motors' 2014 Club Spirit Award
Curtis,
I too have wimped out this year after giving it a serious effort in 2013. You are the man, and I expect you'll be a winner this year. I assume you'll be going west young man, to take 7 more photos. Let's plan a photo in Indy wearing our Moss challenge tee shirts. BTW I spent my prize money from 2013 buying new rotors after warping a new set while making a panic stop from 80 mph decending some mountain near the Grand canyon last year while competing in the challenge. |

Re: Let's Win Moss Motors' 2014 Club Spirit Award
Thank you all so much!
PJ wrote: "Let's plan a photo in Indy wearing our Moss challenge tee shirts." Count on it! When Lisa suggested we do the Challenge, it was just something to do on Sunday afternoons. She figured we weren't seeing enough of Colorado's variety. Collecting town signs will get you onto some unfamiliar routes. Also, the scavenger hunt points interested her: "winery", "cupcake bakery", "art gallery", "covered bridge", etc. --- We were ~3/4 done collecting town and county signs before I decided to collect states too. Now, we are indeed scheming to grab some photos on the other side of the Rockies. Since Lisa has run out of Vacation days, we're thinking she might grab a cheap flight home from somewhere along my route. |

Go (farther) West young man! :)
Of course, you could spend two weeks just seeing the sites in California. |

Re: Let's Win Moss Motors' 2014 Club Spirit Award
Curtis, you taken all of us on a whirlwind tour of most of the states. I say it should only be a kick in the rear to get out there and enjoy the great roads and sights we have.
Katie, that is getting up and close with old George. You guys are making Perk and I feel as though we are home bound, we have only clocked 8,000 mile since French Lick. Best regards Perk and charles |

Re: Let's Win Moss Motors' 2014 Club Spirit Award
Well, the driving season is nearly over here. Went for a short drive today and picked off five destinations, including an ice rink.......Willie O'Ree Place. This is about a half mile from my house, drive past it nearly every day but it took a snow storm last week to get me motivated. The rink, with two NHL size ice surfaces as well as as a YMCA and indoor skateboard park, is named Willie O'Ree Place in honour of the former Fredericton man who became the first black person to play in the National Hockey League 50 years ago.

Re: Let's Win Moss Motors' 2014 Club Spirit Award
That's another great photo, Phil.
I really like those bad-ass black wheels! Life keeps getting in my way. Just the other day, I charted out a new and better route to pick up the west coast states. Then snow came. It's 18F and my radio is calling for 2 more inches here. Perhaps after that melts! All I have to do is get across or around the Rockies and then there's just deserts and beaches, right? |

I have a room waiting in California if you are passing through. I also have rear leaf springs for you too.

Re: Let's Win Moss Motors' 2014 Club Spirit Award
Thanks Curtis.
They are 15" x 6" from a Nissan Sentra and look great from twenty feet, got some surface rust. One of the hazards in living where salt is the other "S" word during our winters. There are a couple of clearance issues so over the winter I'll cut the centers out on the lathe, sand blast the parts, adjust the offset and have a friend TIG weld the centers back in place, then powder coat them. Haven't decided about a set of Baby Moons or trim rings, don't think I'd want both. I got a ride in Jim Stuart's car at Indy and remember his wheels with the Baby Moons, going for the same look. |

Re: Let's Win Moss Motors' 2014 Club Spirit Award
Moss has just announced results for the 2014 Challenge. I'll start a new thread later today with the full story. For now, I'll just give you this summary.
The Good News: Lisa and I tied for FIFTH PLACE OVERALL!!! That's exactly what we were hoping and working for. PJ's 2013 entry inspired us, and I wanted to match his results. I figured a fifth place finish would be high enough to keep V8/V6 conversions on everyone's radar, but not so high as to make one of BritishV8's key advertisers uncomfortable. The Bad News: BritishV8 Got Skunked Really Bad in the Club Spirit Award. I haven't heard yet exactly how many of us listed "BritishV8" as our club affiliation, but I do know the "Les Bois Miata Club" of Boise, Idaho won. We must do better next year! |

Re: Let's Win Moss Motors' 2014 Club Spirit Award
Curtis, just opened my email from Moss a few minutes ago.
Congratulations!! Excellent work and some great photos. I didn't get to travel nearly as much as I wanted to this past year due to a variety of circumstances but will be shooting for the top 50 in 2015. See you in Indy. |

Re: Let's Win Moss Motors' 2014 Club Spirit Award
I listed British V8 as club affiliation; but I was way down the list of points earned this year compared to last year.
