Triumphest 2008
Hi everyone,
Just got home from Triumphest 2008 held at Lake Tahoe. I took 150 photo's while I was there. Talked with Jim Prettyleaf about his autocross setup TR6, great fellow with tons of knowledge. His TR6 speced out with a 48 front/ 52 rear in weigh. I missed his autocross at the show which was held on Friday. Tons of eye candy to look at from trailer queens to daily drivers. Jim Prettyleafs rim & Tire. Carol Sheby rims with Hoosier tire Is this one of Dan Masters powerblocks? Take a guess? They are motorcycle carbs on a TR6, very different with 3 throtle cables. Tire size of Jim Prettyleafs autocrosser TR6. Edited 1 time(s). Last edit at 10/05/2008 03:38PM by 74ls1tr6. |

Re: Triumphest 2008
Thanks for posting! Sorry to hear about the rain.
"If anyone is interested in more photo's .....?" ----- Certainly! I'm always especially interested to see photos of mods / engine swaps. "Is this one of Dan Masters powerblocks?" ----- Yes, Dan designed and promoted that powerblock. "Advance Auto-Wire" has now been purchased by Steve Carrick. Here's updated contact info: You can see Steve's V8-conversion here: "Barney" Edited 1 time(s). Last edit at 10/05/2008 04:11PM by Moderator. |

Re: Triumphest 2008
I have an order in with Advance Auto-Wire but kind of waiting for hardship to pass some time. I will send Steve a PM soon to see where everything stands.
Curtis, I can send you most all the photo's from Triumphest if you would like? I won't resize any of them. You can do what you want with them. I will need to send them in batches because of the size. I have about 10 or 15 more of Jim Prettyleafs car that he said was ok to add them in (How it was done). Was lucky enough to ride in his car. Very looowered car, very tight, and flat cornering. Have a business card of the man, that has the knowledge of TR6 with motorcycle carbs. Calvin |

Re: Triumphest 2008
Rick,
This year the Triumphest 2008 was held at the Horizen Casino Resort Hotel, real close to Harvey's Casino, and Harrah's Casino on Hwy 50. I believe in the Nevada side. Autocross was held in the far back parking lot. I was able to meet Charles the owner from The Roadster Factory in person, picked up some parts for my TR6 without shipping and Tax, this will never happen again. Next Years Triumpest 2009 will be held in San Luis Obispo Ca. The East calls it the VTR National...The west calls it Triumphest in 2009. The event will be held at the Embassy Suites. So there will be two venues attending, should be a great show. There are 5 west coast Triumph clubs that take turns hosting the Triumphest The Southern California Triumph Owners Association (SCTOA) decided to invite the VTR National group from the east for 2009.The Date Wednesday, September 30th, through Sunday, October 4, 2009 What I would like to see is all British car meet. Re: Triumphest 2008
More Photo's of Triumphest 2008.
This TR6 caught my eye with the rims, Panasport. This is the same 3 Weber setup that was used on my TR250. It brought back some memories. This fellow stoped and gave a big smile for the photo. These last two photos were taken when they were coming out of the covered parking lot to do a small rally in town. This TR250 wasn't completely restored yet, you could see the dyna mat in the back and also no top in another photo. Curtis Note Here < -----> This is the TR6 that had the 3 motorcycle carbs installed. (Correction, this is not David in the photo below, can't remember his name but he started his business in Fresno, Ca about four years ago in resoration of british cars) David Nock (In the bottom photo) is the President & Service manager of British Car Specialists in Stocton CA. He would be a good prospect for British V8 advertising. 209-948-8767 Britishcarspecialists.com He must be right down the street from Triumphs Only( Wayne Briar) Triumphsonly.com Another prospect Edited 2 time(s).
