Re: West Coast BritV8 Meet_2016
Rob,
Host your family in one of the many fine cabins for rent cheap around Townsend that will hold the entire family. With Dollywood, Gatlinburg, Pigeon Forge, and the Smokys, along with the V8 meet, there's something for every member of the family, no matter their age or interest. Could be the best Mother's Day ever! We will come up with a way to honor each and every Mother there. Your family will have such a great time there that you will get a free pass from SWMBO to go out west as well. You'll still have brownie points left over even after Cristmas. |

Marshall,
Saw that you are setting up a 2016 west coast run. Sounds like fun I live in West Point, Ca. About 40 minutes up Hwy 88 above Jackson and agree that the ride up 88 around Lake Tahoe is great. In the event that you or anyone else is up this way let me know and I'll try and meet up. |

Has there been a date and location decided on? I won't be able to go to Townsend in May, so I'm interested in coming out west later in the year.

Re: West Coast BritV8 Meet_2016
I live in Northern California and would love to try to make this event. I am not sure I can do all four days or not but will try. It is cool to see other V8 British cars and great to see others on the West Coast.
My car was just finished recently and I am close to finishing the last tweaks that were discovered now that the car is being used as a daily driver. My car is a Jaguar 3.8S with an aluminum block LS 5.3 liter sleeper. Edited 1 time(s). Last edit at 10/06/2015 02:25AM by primaz. |

Very nice looking Jag Alan! You will love the fuel mileage and power of the 5.3 ls engine. I hope we can get this off the ground or do something that works for the western group of people.

Re: West Coast BritV8 Meet_2016
Hey all,
My apologies--- I am still on with this but as Rick says I have been busy with real life....LOL Actually, I am being transferred back to my previous location of Bellingham (Washington) at the end of the year so between trying to get that organized and the other myriad of aspects that come up in every day life...... But, for all intents and purposes, this is still on...... Alan-- great looking Jag and it certainly puts my Mark 2/Chev. 350 project to shame (if it ever gets finished). Calvin-- working hard at getting this off the ground; us left coast people need some fun too!! Art-- yes of course a non-Brit can tag along. It may be that my other project (1970 BMW 2002 running 4.6 Rover V8) may have to be the runner instead of the Jag. as it stands~ All-- I will try to be more consistent in updates here, just bear with me..... and thanks for the gently prods- much appreciated! Marshall,
Bellingham eh, that's right in my neck of the woods! We even have a local MG car club here [mbmgcc.org] A few members also have V8/V6 conversions;-) Bill Edited 1 time(s). Last edit at 10/11/2015 01:27AM by MG four six eight. |

Re: West Coast BritV8 Meet_2016
still working towards this-----if anyone would like to jump in to assist in planning.....
I had no idea how much work goes in to setting up these events so my hat goes off in kudos to those who have already done this in the past..... I have the tour set (road wise) but setting up accommodation, events, etc.--that is a totally different ball game....plus trying to work and finish two cars...... |

Re: West Coast BritV8 Meet_2016
Unfortunately due to the huge amount of time involved in organizing this type of event and the relatively low interest in the event, I will have to shelf this project.
If anyone is interested in reviving it at a later stage and is looking for any type of assistance, I am more than happy to jump in and help....... |
