I'm all about positive...but the heat in July is the absolute worst time to travel from Midwest - East to the west coast in British sports cars...I would suggest either late May or Septemberish...something to consider...

Maybe we ought to put it to the vote? I fully understand the inconvenience with the humidity/heat.....
To be honest, I am ok with whatever the majority decides--simply because that is probably the least of my planning woes...LOL

Seems like later May is going to be the best alternative, especially for those with kids in school..?

I think it's great to see this kind of activity in planning a west coast meet. It's a good sign for success.

Marshall,

The last week in July would be fine. The poll idea is good, it's always tough to find a date that works for everyone.

A poll would be a great idea. I'm with Mike, late May/early June or Septemberish.

The only time that doesn't work for me is late June.
Other than that everything else is flexible.

I am flexible.......so I can work with any date----whatever works for the majority.
As soon as we can come to a consensus, I will begin another fresh post with a proposed route and date--does that work?

Live 1 hour north of SF, 20 mins. inland from Bodega Bay....the Coast ride is very popular, for obvious reasons....the area north of Stinson Beach is spectacular....wine and cheese abound.....much good food as well...many good hotels and rentals...weather is always cool in the AM and pleasant to warm till sunset...my MGB enjoys the mornings on the Coast the most, ( see what I did there ?). Will keep an eye out for this ...hope it happens...

Cars & Coffee 1st Sun. of every month in nearby Novato...a great mix of people and cars that continues to grow...[www.facebook.com]

This club is just across the road from C&C and enjoys meeting new people all the time,

Thanks Mike
Had no idea that you were so close.......and as our counterparts will find out next year---that area is fantastic for cruising and checking out the scenery.

Really looking forward to seeing you there but may check out the Novato scene prior-- my brother in law lives over there and it is only a 20 minute drive for me......

Still working on getting this together however; hard slog but I think the end result will be worth it.

I enjoyed all of that area back in my Air Force days in the late 70s, especially camping on the beach in Fort Bragg.

Rick
I appreciate all of the valuable insight--sorry for the lack of acknowledgement. I near passed lout when I saw the amount of planning that is required....
Wow, how does the saying go?

BUMP, This is for some of the Left Coast guys, a good plan is all ready in place, you just got to make it happen! The Events do not "Just Happen," they take effort and planning. Generally, not just a show up event :-) Beer Happens, but planning is key

Someday, yes. Don't think I can make it happen next year, though.

Many fine roads in NorCal. Napa/Sonoma/ Marin county should definitely be on the agenda. I live in Napa and can attest...! My vote would also be for September. Some V8 and V6 mods in my Santa Rosa club (NoBBC.com) I'm sure would be interested. Routes suggested do sound a bit long and little time to appreciate the splendor in each. Glad to be of assist. Jim

I'm getting more interested in this one since realizing next year's BritishV8 lines up with Mothers Day. We host a family get together every Mothers Day so I won't be able to make it to Townsend :(. Since I can't, I'm thinking I may try to make this one. Plus, I think I could convince my wife to join for the wine country.
