Re: BritishV8 2015 - The Fat Lady Has Sung!
That sux Rob. Care to share what terrible thing you got caught doing???? The only ticket that ever went on my record, 30 years ago, was in Ca. I was cited for 5 over the limit. I was the slowest car on the freeway and was being passed by a semi when the cop shot me with his radar gun. I knew he was there as my detector picked him up long before he even saw me. I thought 5 over would be okay since everyone else was doing at least 10 over. I later found out that in that area, they only write "out of state" cars because they know you won't come back to fight the chicken sh!t ticket.

Son was driving. 83 in 70. Has the option (which he'll take) to have the charge dropped.
I'll 2nd the "well done"! Thanks for all the work you guys put into it. Rick, Pete and Dave (and spouses because we know they helped too) - Thank you! |

Nice planning of events, fun stuff every day/all day! Thanks, Stooges!
The music and clever lyrics at the Banquet was a real surprise. Is this on the web anywhere? Jack |

Jeb Blanchard's "BritishV8 Blues" was a surprise to me as well....he told me he had something neat to share...this proves that you CAN trust the "Dark Side"!!

Got home about 30 minutes ago. 15 1/2 hours. Made easier with Drew - switched drivers every 3-4 hours. He brought us in the last 4.5 hours.

Not sure which one of you three guys went the extra step of scheduling that LITTLE rain shower so that I could get a free car wash but it was a nice perk. I also thought that your placing that little red car to act as a pylon during the autocross was just a little added touch of class. Thanks for a GREAT time. Merv |

Please accept another round of applause from a grateful participant, thanks to our fine leaders and also to all who came, it was a fantastic event!
Rob sorry about the summons. The Roadmaster performed flawlessly over 500 miles on 30 gals of fuel. A rain shower in WVA cooled me off, I needed that. I'll get my photos organized soon, some already on FB. See ya'll next time. |

Re: BritishV8 2015 - The Fat Lady Has Sung!
British V8 in Indy was a fantastic experience! The last I attended was in Ohio, just after the car was built. I broke down 10 times, visited 6 different garages, and removed the sway bar on the Ohio Turnpike because the left front spring collapsed into the sway bar causing the steering to lock at 65 MPH on an off ramp. It took only 6 years to sort out the car and 3 HotRod Power tours.
I composed Going to the Indy British V8 Blues as an after thought - Steve Wayne helped with some of the lyrics. Following are the words. Going to Indy British V8 Blues Key in the Ignition - Key in the Ignition Put your foot on the floor - Put your foot on the floor Disengage the transmission – Disengage the transmission Hear the muffler roar – Hear the muffler roar Went down the driveway like it was the starting gate Headed to the Indy and British V8 --Harp-blues riff-- At about 200 miles I heard a click and a hiss I knew damn well Lucas; the Lord OF Darkness; had blown me a kiss As I saw whiffs of smoke from my hood did rise I saw concern in my wife’s wild eyes “Don’t fret honey it will be OK” She stared me down and said, “Only if we call Triple A” So your wife and your family think you have so much to lose They just don’t understand the British V8 Blues --Harp-blues riff-- Pulled up to the Clarion to a full parking lot Someone handed me a cold, cold beer, I knew it would get hot Everyone was standing around cars Discussing electrical and motors under the stars What a fine time we guys were having – not even in bars All just admiring our colorful British V8 Cars We witnessed shining and polishing AND getting the electricals right So we wouldn’t miss yet another summer cruise night Motor Speedway was a sight to behold Love all that history if the truth be told Met in the parking lot for curves and fun Look at those British V8s run and run Now the good times are coming to an end Time to say goodbye to old and new friends --Harp- Swing Low Sweet Chariots, Coming to take me home-- But still: Your wife and family think you’ve got so much to lose They will never understand the British V8 Blues! --Harp- blues riff-- Thanks to our sponsors for the tech sessions, setting up auto cross, and in general being good guys. Rick and the THREE STOOGES did a good job planning and executing the events - and herding cats... Jeb |

Re: BritishV8 2015 - The Fat Lady Has Sung!
Mucho Kudos to Rick, Pete, & Dave for hosting another one of their outstanding Meets!
What can I say, awesome times with awesome people! Like I have mentioned many times before, what keeps me coming back year after year after year after year is the friends ( & making new ones), fellowship, & camaraderie that make up our British V8 (& V6 & 4 banger Pinto engine w/hairdryer) community. It was a fantastic Family Reunion! Please come join Dan Masters, Jim Watson, Mickey Richaud, Kelly & Sandy Stevenson, Charles & Perky Long, myself, & other Tennesseans in Townsend next May. LBC roads & scenery guaranteed. |
