Haven't heard from or seen any posts by Larry. Last one noted was in 2015. We had a great time in Colorado Springs and hope all is well.

Met him at Colorado Springs - enjoyed getting to know him and he did host a great meet - which we know is a ton of work! I too hope he is well.

He is more then likely still recovering from all of the running around he had to do to set the event up.

Like Carl wrote a favorite event. If he were to do it again I would do my best to be there.

Agree with all about the success of the Colorado Springs meet...as has been pointed out, especially since it was basically one guy who pulled the load...actually amazing he pulled that off. Many found memories and the location and drives were breath taking....road out with my friend Howard Hosp, which made the trip more enjoyable, and then a chance meeting on the way out with Dave and Curly Kirkman about half way through the trip...all three guys helped me with replacing my coil and then my fuel pump when I broke down in western Kanas on the way...great memories...although it did cost me a bundle buying those three guys diner as a reward for their help..chuckle

Colorado Springs, 2014 was great. I learned a lot about the area. The Corvette Heat Rash autocross on the Sunday was a blast. Other highlights for me was the Penrose Heritage Museum and of course the drive up Pikes Peak. And I made new friends with people from the Western USA and Canada.

Enjoyed the meetup and activities very much! Some great folks and whet my appetite to see some of those events further East! Would love to try and put something together for a meet here on the West coast and preferably NorCal with its great scenic roads.

Good news! Larry called me a few minutes ago and gave me a download on his activities since the 2014 meet. On the unfortunate side, Larry has been virtually inactive for the last year or so. He has a bad back and his right knee is very bad....at this point he has limited activity and has to sleep in a chair to avoid the back pain. It appears there might be an operation on his back and and knee in the future to help him return to normal activites. He has not done anything on his V6 project due to his health issues, but did recently purchase an mga project. He is currently offline but promises to post here with updates as soon as as he is able. Let's all wish Larry good luck and better health in the future!

Yep, mixed +/- news but hopefully the surgery will be an option & will work! Looking forward to hearing from him again.

OK, I'm here and haven't fallen of the edge of the earth.

First off, I appreciate Mike giving me a heads up on this thread.

A little more detail on the back and knee. They have mostly been giving me mobility problems. Meds help but I don't like the side effects. I can sit at a desk all day without any issues, but standing, laying on my back or doing any torquing movements give my lower back some pretty good zingers. The right knee is just wearing out. I will be talking to a back and knee doc within the next few weeks. I am hoping that some Sinvisc injections will stave of knee replacement surgery. As far as the back is concerned, I may be a candidate for Interspinous Process Spacers, a type of wedge that opens the spine up. It's done in an out-patient setting. Hopefully within the next couple of months I will be able to get back to working on the cars.

As Mike said I've also now have an MGA that was my grandfather's last fling. It had been sitting in my uncle's garage since '64. The roof leaked and pretty much trashed the interior and rusted out the rear quarter panels. But, the engine still runs. Once the B is complete that will be the next project.

I'll be posting updates intermittently on my progress

Thanks again for your thoughts

Great to hear from, you Larry. The knee op is the way to go. Synvisc is only temp and insurance is restrictive on # injections. Knee replacement is inconvenient but does great in long term. If knee is shot, just replace it. It will not get better. Good luck on the back repair and keep us posted. Thanks for great job and fun times in Col. Sprgs. aka-The Bionic Man :-)

Hi Larry,

One more thank you from an attendee of the 2014 meet, I had a great time even though I flew, just didn't have enough time to drive to that one.

Best wishes with the health issues. Several of my friends have new knees and they say it's worth it and not too bad of PT & recovery.

OT, but great pic of your car on San Francisco's Lombard Street PJ! That's where it is, right?
