"Warm Up" for Brit V8" next year, 2017
We can discuss in Townsend if enough members are interested in a night before stop in Wytheville, Va. Wytheville is on I-81 and the end of I-77 approximately 100 miles SE of Lewisburg WV. The map shows a mountain rd to be a reasonable ride to cruise into Lewisburg the next day. This overnight stop would be similar to the ones in St. Joseph, Mo and Shreveport, La in previous years. Open to suggestions if this is not acceptable; however the new proposer is new trip planner.

Stayed in Wytheville on the way to VIR and the British V8 meet in Raleigh-Durham in 2009. Managed to luck out with a Sagebrush Steakhouse right next door to the Super 8 motel.

I'm not even ready to pee by Wytheville! :) I went thru there on the way to Durham this weekend (longer, but faster route). I made Wytheville in one hour 20 minutes. Actually I drove straight thru to Max's house non-stop. No pee break. Saw a tremendous Full Moon come up as I was approaching Mt. Airy, NC! What a sight! Top down, beautiful evening & a Full Moon Rising, to boot! Sweet, topless motoring at its finest.
BTW, I-81 is 70mph from Bristol, VA to Wytheville, so don't forget to step it up a notch when you leave TN. |

On I-81? I run 5-7 over the limit on I-81 in VA all the time. They don't bat an eye. Or, just go with the flow. That is usually +5. at least. :)

Re: "Warm Up" for Brit V8" next year
geez i guess those of us born in the 1940's, like me, are the oldsters and the younguns were born in the 50's or later. Dan has me by a few years, but I still have to pee a lot especially after taking my di-uretic for my heart disease. You guys are a blast.
BTW my maternal grandmother lived in Parson's, WVA near Elkins, WVA. not too far from Snowshoe resort. |

I was just in Parsons last week. In fact, traffic was stopped for the Homecoming Parade.

Re: "Warm Up" for Brit V8" next year
Maybe just MAYBEE I could maybe come to the 2017 event..... I really would love to do that. Jennifer and I haven't been to one since 2008.
I have to admit I am very surprised to hear Carl is 59. Last time I thought about how old he was, it was 49. What happened? I thought I was catching up to you. I'm a rather elderly 41 and I am watching classmates die off as well. I better go out for a bike ride again later tomorrow! -BMC. |

Whoa now! I'm still 58 for a couple more months (two days after Thanksgiving). You can be "elderly if you want, Brian. I refuse to grow up. I'm going for a 2 mile run. ;)

Brian, come on down.
I got a bone to pick with you. I bought a Howe throw out bearing from you and there is something wrong with it. Unlike everyone else mine is not leaking or making weird noises and I feel left out. Only been 27,000 miles since French Lick. charles |

Re: "Warm Up" for Brit V8" next year
No Carl,
The Wilwood clutch master cylinder is what has failed. Guess what, no repair kit from Wilwood. So to not miss anything I carry brake fluid and a funnel. I got one ordered and will replace it when ever the engine cools down. I guess I am in charge of desert, so I am bringing apple pie. Everybody bring a spoon. charles |
