What route did you take, Paul? We were not too far behind you, and finally got out of the rain just a little NW of Cincinnati. Of course, we didn't see the sun until we hit the Illinois/Indiana border.

We left the hotel at 0700 EDT and arrived home at 0400 EDT....we did gain an hour drive time because of the slower speeds needed to be kept due to the rain, which limited visibility quite a bit.

We had NO delays due to construction and only saw one accident (near Lexington) that was obviously weather-caused.

I had about 1100 miles on the clock this weekend.

As Paul stated, it was a great weekend....thanks out to Mickey and Janet for their hospitality....thanks out to Jim Watson for the assistance with my charging problem and the loan of the plug-in volt meter (which will go back to him today via USPS Priority Mail).

See you all in Dayton if not before.

We left the hotel at 0600 EDT and arrived home at 0500 EDT and as Rick stated HEAVY rain from start until Cincinnati. About 1350 miles for total trip.

Mickey, Janet, Thanks for the GREAT evening.

Paul, I'm not so sure about being back to even, as the rental fee for that coil was !!! SIMPLY HUGE !!!.

Great people, great scenery made for a GREAT weekend.

Rick and Merv,
It looks like you arrived at your destination before you left. Am I missing something or did you use the "Charles Long" method of time calculation. (Back to the Future?)

Merv,

As far as the rental fee for the ignition coil, the coil returned to you is "competition field tested, known to be good" and will be able to be used as a reliable spare unit. The testing and "free" return shipping should more than make up the HUGE rental fee.

Made it home about 1830 hours last night after a long day of sitting on airplanes and hanging out in airports (and walking miles between gates in Toronto). Had a wonderful time in Tennessee! A few photos of the gathering at Mickey's. Thanks so much for hosting us Mickey and Janet!

Well Paul, not sure about the field testing, but after the compound interest, handling fee and our new Illinois sugar tax on soft drinks is added, than the cost can surly go WAAY up there. Next time we get together you may want to consider bring the title for you MG along.

As far as the arrival and departure time thing goes, when you drive a JAG U AR you do start to believe that anything is possible.

I had a great time. Thanks Micky and everyone else that helped to pull this weekend together. One thing we missed was a group shot.

David Terhune sent me a note " Please convey my thanks to them for the great hospitality from the group this past weekend... it was nice seeing some old friends and meeting new ones. "

We toured the Foothills Parkway, Dragon, Moonshiner 28 and other local roads, here are a few shots. We also talked to several Slingshot owners. One has a Honda S2000 in his and a big fat tire in the back to put down the extra power.

Foothills Parkway Expansion East. See link below for more details on the bridges we saw on the side of the mountains.

Thanks for that article, Jim. Nice to know the story on the mysterious part of the seemingly never finished Foothills Parkway.

I took Wears Valley on my way to I-81 when I left on Saturday morning. The barricades on the ramp are still up. I guess they are working on overlooks.

Greetings.....

There had been a ***little*** discussion of possibly moving our yearly fall gathering from a weekend to a Sunday through Wednesday.

Richard Moor checked with the hotel......there are too many festivals, etc, held during that time frame.

We need to keep the first full weekend of October (Thursday through Sunday) as has been our habit over the past few years.

It wasn't really broken.....no need to fix it.

That is all...
