The Matching Game
I've pasted together a rough draft "Cars of BritishV8 2017" article.
Big thanks to everyone who has contributed photos so far! Four different photographers, so far! But I'm frustrated with the article because on-the-one-hand I'm missing photos of many cars I know must have been there. And, on-the-other-hand, I see some cars in the backgrounds of photos that I can't match up to attendees. Can you help? It'll be fun to try, right? Here's the link: [www.britishv8.org] IF YOU CAN SHARE PHOTOS TO FILL IN GAPS, PLEASE DO!!! Also, please let me know if I've crossed-up photographer credits. |

Re: The Matching Game
Pic of Bill Yobi's MGB difficult to obtain, he drove his new Hellcat. Great job so far, come on and help Curtis with additional pics and info.

Re: The Matching Game
The yellow TR8 belongs to Rick and Prema Ray, members of the WV British Car Club. Artie's car used to belong to Michelle Pierce.

Re: The Matching Game
Excellent. Thank you!
I've added the TR6(x2) photo and also three nice photos from Graham. One of Graham's pics shows Steve DeGroat's MGBGT especially nicely. Still looking for more! Also, I'm still wondering who brought this TR8? |

Re: The Matching Game
The grey TR8 was parked next to Mike Alexander's MGA at the hotel. I got the impression that they knew each other fairly well. Both cars were impeccable.

Re: The Matching Game
He and Mike were next door neighbor's to Artie and I at the hotel. I can't remember his name either but he and Mike live very close to each other in Richmond if I understood him correctly. He is a really nice guy and his car was really nice.
Curtis, I'm ashamed to say I didn't get vey many pictures unfortunately. This is one of the few I got of the cars. I have a few of some of the activities we did if you want them? |

Re: The Matching Game
The guy with the light blue shirt in the picture of Calvin's car on the dyno is the owner of the TR8. Can't remeber his name but I'm sure Mike Alexander knows him.

Re: The Matching Game
Curtis....I think Robert Milks sent you an article reviewing BritishV8 2017, too.....I just wanted to confirm that you've received it. We need to document the history of all of these meets. They are like a "how it was done" for the event....and is a useful tool in marketing future events.

MG Driver published that article in their magazine. My opinion is that duplicating content shortly after it appears in other publications is inappropriate. BritishV8 should have its own, unique content. The West Virginia British Car Club also published a nice article about BritishV8 2017. I hope everyone has seen it. If not, here's a link: [www.wvbcc.com] --- but I've got a problem with duplicating content that's already on their site too. Even if someone gives me permission. |

Re: The Matching Game
Curtis, feel free to use the WVBCC photos as you wish. As you are creating the recap of the 2017 meet on the page, perhaps you could include links to the wvbcc letter from Bill and to Robert's MG Driver article.
There also should be an article from the local newspaper. There was a reporter at our meet that I talked to. I will see if I can find the article. |
