Re: BritishV8 Trivia Contest
Obviously another obscure bit of triva! I'll offer a few hints. The athletic contest referred to was a CFL game, but not between two CFL franchises, and the award the Most Outstanding Player received was a car. What kind of a car do you think it was? C'mon TR guys.......

Re: BritishV8 Trivia Contest
Canadian Football League, similar to our NFL but they, like most Canadians, play longer! EH? Where's Mr. Creswick on this one?

Re: BritishV8 Trivia Contest
Mr. Creswick has no use for the CFL - it's about as exciting as watching paint dry! Sorry if I've stepped on some CFL fans toes, but I just don't like the game.....strangely, though, I do watch NCAA football.
..........all of which doesn't answer the original trivia question. |

Re: BritishV8 Trivia Contest
C'mon, all you have to do is name the car. It was the early 60's.

Re: BritishV8 Trivia Contest
My first thought was Triumph Herald.
Herald is a fine example of Michelotti styling. He also designed this truck cab: |

Re: BritishV8 Trivia Contest
Actually what I found was a TR3, but I bet in '63 they gave a TR4 for the TRIUMPH AWARD. Carl, you have won! Next Question ......?

Re: BritishV8 Trivia Contest
I know the answer - the norse/german reference made it too easy - I just wanted to let someone else have a crack first.
As a clue, they started around 1920, stopped sometime in the 60s when they were taken over, and the cars aren't that common. |
