I wonder if there might be any interest in something like a visit to a local automotive museum or something? I saw that Lane's got a mention in Hagerty's magazine.

Lane Motor Museum is a great place - but it's in Nashville, about 3 1/2 hours away!

Great drive! You might want to consider including the newer part of Foothills. To access it, you'd turn right at the traffic light onto Wears Valley Road and follow that to Wears Valley, where the entrance to the parkway is located. It's a gorgeous drive and won't add too much time to the trip - maybe 45 minutes or so. Plus, Merv always wanted to know what it's like WAAAAAY up there...

I called the Tally Ho and found out that I do not have a reservation, oops.

Secondly, I like historical museums, so I like Carl's suggestion Great Smoky Mountains Heritage Center 10am-5pm $8 for Seniors (60+)

FYI - there's a new pub site near the IGA, just opened up. Haven't been there yet - we've been gone on a month-long trip in the motor home, and it opened while we were gone. But friends have told us it's very good. Will be checking it out next day or so. Website: [peacefulsidesocial.com]

And if anyone is staying over Sunday evening, there's a group of us who play at the Abbey on Sunday afternoon from 4:00-6:00. Good craft beers and sandwiches/flatbreads/etc.
