Re: TR6 Turbo Engine Carnage Pictures
Dale, for those of us that weren't there, what happened? Too much boost? I really like your conversion, you did a nice job. I've always thought that the boosted 2.3 is a neat motor.

WOW!
Not what I like to see, but I guess it can happen. I hope you had fun before this block blow! Back to the drawing board and maybe use uprated internals so this won't haunt you again. |

Re: TR6 Turbo Engine Carnage Pictures
Hi Dale, as bad as it looks, you probably had a "whew" moment when you pulled the head -- assuming no pics of it means it came through unscathed.

Re: TR6 Turbo Engine Carnage Pictures
At the worst the head only has two bent valves. The rods were stock and should hve been changed a long time ago. 25 pounds of boost on pump gas and a few hundred passes down the track was more then the rod could handle. I will be building it back up with good Crower rods this time.

Dale, when Mr. Spooner gets your new engine going together make sure we get photos of that as well, should look a lot better! Glad you came on down to the meet anyway. Enjoyed meeting you!

Re: TR6 Turbo Engine Carnage Pictures
I got the TR6 back on the road tonight. I need to get some miles on it to break in the rings before I take it back to the drag strip. I am hoping to get it on the dyno before the end of the summer. If i do I will post up some numbers.
