Re: TR6 Rear Disc Brake Conversion Brackets for Sale
Update!
I picked up the run of disk brake brackets yesterday! Will be painting them within the next couple of days + drying time. There is some left up for grabs from this run still. Received some pricing on 1/4" steel brackets and 1/2" aluminum brackets. Finding out if the machine shop is setup for the run, it's easier to get the 1/4" steel and 1/2" aluminum ones made and not have a full 20 pieces made. The setup time is what is costing the majority of the price, so if the timing is right, any one of the 3 brackets can be made. Steel takes longer to mill where aluminum can be milled faster than steel, aluminum does cost more. The aluminum will be all milled out, even the outside perimeter, not plasma burned like the steel ones. It would drive the price up more. Mailed prices in the US: 1/2" steel disk brake brackets = $145.00 1/4" steel disk brake brackets = $135.00 per pair (not much difference in price compaired to 1/2"). 1/2" aluminum disk brake brackets = $195.00 per pair.......much lighter than steel. Some have asked for these. contact: waterhook@surewest.net or 74ls1tr6 PM in this forum. |

Update!
I have 3 sets of brackets left of the kast run. They are 1/2 steel. So they are up for grabs if anyone wants them. The price is still the same in the post above. Calvin |

Re: TR6 Rear Disc Brake Conversion Brackets for Sale
Update!
I have 2 sets left out of the last run of brackets! One set Ken Schmidt here in Sacramento may want for his red TR6! Next run of brackets depends on how many want them before a run will start. This would be a good time for the aluminum 1/2", or 1/4" or 1/2" steel brackets made at the same time. It would be less expensive to run them at the same time, to cut down on machine shop setup time. Re: TR6 Rear Disc Brake Conversion Brackets for Sale
Update!
Ted in NC just bought the last set of brackets! This set of brackets I was holding for Ken Schmidt here in Sacramento Ca, but said go ahead and sell them, and maybe get a set later. So I can do another run of bracket's based on interest, so would need your name and e-mail to put on the list for the next run! Contact : waterhook@surewest.net Subject: TR6 rear disk brake conversion brackets! If you read the posts before this, the price has not changed. Thanks, Calvin FYI ....People out of the USA, I found that I can mail these bracket's which are under 4 pounds in the smallest flat rate box for under $20.00, was costing $40.00 to $70.00 any other way. |

Re: TR6 Rear Disc Brake Conversion Brackets for Sale
Update!
If this interest keeps going the way it has shown, will start doing larger runs like 20 sets (40 pieces) price could come down some for all. I didn't think there would have been such an interest for these brackets, was making some since Don Watson only made a few, I was one of the lucky ones to get a pair from him. I figured I could fill in just for others that wanted them since I have easy access to machine shops in my area "Well people keep wanting them". So I'll keep getting them burning at the machine shop. At this point I don't have up front cost until pick up date to pay. In the begining had to pay before starting. I don't advertize out of BritishV8.org for these brackets. It just goes to show how this site is growing so fast with this sport. "WOW". I personally wish I had more time to devote getting the whole kit together for eveyone so it would be easier for this conversion. Have had tons of fun talking to people all over the world with the same sport of interest and helping other with their cars. I have had enough interest, to put in another order for 10 more sets of TR6, TR250, and TR4irs rear disk brake conversion brackets. I e-mailed the machine shop this morning to go ahead and burn out 20 more steel pieces. Will get a confirmation of completion time. So who ever is interested, "get your name on the list", they seem to move out in the mail fairly quick! Mailed prices in the US: 1/2" steel disk brake brackets = $145.00 1/2" aluminum disk brake brackets = $195.00 (the more made at the time of the run this price could come down some for all) Mailed out of US add $20.00 for flate rate box (cheap way for mailing these compaired to mailing in a different box) If anyone wants a set of 1/2" aluminum brackets, let me know real soon, because when the machine shop has the steel ones setup, it would be less setup time to run the aluminum brackets at the same time (keeps the setup time down). I can do another run of brackets if there is enough interest involved maybe 8 or 10 sets will work. Merek is 1?
