WANTED: 4.6L Rover block
Posted by: J Man

I am looking for a 4.6L block (wanting to take it out to a 5.0L) or rebuildable core. I would need something near OH or you will have to be willing to ship. I have a Olds 215 motor I can offer in trade if you are in need of one of those. I would prefer a PM if you can help as I should get notification of message (I onlt get on here every couple of weeks). Thanks for any help.

You can also use the 4.0 block since they are identical. The internals determine the displacement from 4.0 to 4.6.

The issue is finding one with good liners.

Because of long-standing issues of "core shift", with the 94mm bore blocks, it's always best to inspect a bare a bare block for cracks in the liners, and/or liners being dropped down from the deck. The safest procedure is to have a block pressure tested, before buying. New oem rplacement blocks are available, but not cheap. Good Luck, roverman.
