Mallory Comp Pump Series 70 Fuel Pump - Bargain Priced!
For Sale: Used Mallory Comp Pump Series 70 Fuel Pump - Part Number 4070
(adjustable fuel pressure, factory preset to between 5 and 6psi) So you want a top-flight, relatively quiet, geroter style fuel pump but you're shocked at the high price. The Mallory Series 70 pump normally sells new for ~$186. (Reference.) Here's your chance to buy one USED for a bargain price, shipping included! But there's the catch. Although this one seems to work fine when I test it on my workbench, I removed it from my car several years ago after it left me parked on the side of the road twice. I believe its motor just needs new brushes! Apparently that's a common problem. They can be purchased economically wherever Mallory fuel pumps are sold. Here's a link: [www.summitracing.com] You may also decide you'd like to rebuild the rest of the pump. Here's a rebuild kit which includes various seals, etc.: [www.summitracing.com] (Note: I've never taken the pump apart, and I don't recall it leaking, so I doubt this rebuild kit is strictly necessary.) Detailed installation instructions including exploded view drawing, etc.: [www.jegs.com] Asking price: $35, shipping included to anywhere in USA or Canada. Condition: needs rebuild to improve reliability. Motor housing has some deep scratches, as shown in the photo above. Location: Longmont Colorado Probably the best way to contact me is via this message board's private message system. |

Since when did a Mallory pump come with Delphi/Packard connectors?
It's too bad they weren't around when MG wiring harnesses were being built......there would be a lot less electrical malfunctions.. |
