Wanted: Rover 4.6L engine assembly
Prefer engine that was running when removed from its donor car, and includes the induction (thru air flow/mass sensor) and wiring harness. ECU not needed. Mileage is unimportant as long as it had no known faults when removed from donor.

Re: Wanted: Rover 4.6L engine assembly
I found one on eBay for $1,100. It was complete with induction and accessories and wiring. It even has the AC compressor. The seller disclosed that it does have a "tick" in the head area once warmed up, but oil pressure is good and it doesn't exhibit the overheating typical of a head leak into the coolant. I'm hoping it's a valve adjustment, a lifter, or a rocker arm. Worst case, I may have to replace a cam. I hope. There are many 4.6L's available from wrecking yards and rebuilders, but the wrecking yard engines are at least $1500 and are just a long block (no accessories, no induction, and no wiring), and the rebuilt engines are $3500-$7000 depending on what was done during the rebuild.

I think "worst case" could be a slipped liner. But others know a lot more about that than I do.
