Nada average retail is 13,800. Actual average retail is more like 9K in this economy for a decent 81. For the most part, the 1980 convertibles came in four colors- gold, silver, green, and aqua. There were about 2000 TR8s made in 1980. In 1981 there were a little over 400 made, and they came in additional colors. If your friends 81 is a color other than what was available in 1980, then it will be a much easier sell, and will fetch more money. A really nice red, white, tan, or blue 81 could see 20K.
