I'm looking to buy a rebuildable Carter/Edelbrock 500 for my 3.5 conversion project. I have an Offenhauser 360 and a rebuilt Holly 390 right now but I'd like to have a backup in case I'm not happy with it. I've read more negative than positive about the Offy manifold and the Holly won't bolt up to my stock 215 intake without more spacers than I have room for. Thanks.

I have an Edelbrock on my 215. Out of the box it's way too rich for the 215, so you're looking at a rolling road session to set it up properly.

If you have height problems, you might look at the JWR Offenhauser intake.

This dual port intake, designed by the racer John Woolf, is very low, and maximises torque at mid range which suited his car and driving style.
Not suitable if you want to build a screamer, but excellent for s street engine.

Thanks Ivor. It would be awesome to have the JWR but it's a bit beyond my budget.
