FOUND - WTB: RV8 4.0 or 4.6L Block Core
I am rebuilding an RV8 using flanged liners, and I need a new block core. My boat anchor of a block apparently has several badly installed helicoils, and shouldn’t be re-repaired.
A slipped liner or a crack behind a liner is OK, any helicoils or other repairs to the head bolt holes is not OK. My local pick-a-part will put me out about $200 and a days worth of swearing and skinned knuckles for a probably cracked block, so I’m hoping someone out there has one in their garage already, and hopefully doesn’t live too far from DC/MD/VA? Many thanks, Dave PS - Jim Blackwood is correct. The Buick 300 makes much more sense in nearly all objective respects. Edited 1 time(s). Last edit at 12/02/2019 10:33AM by MGBV8. |

Re: WTB: RV8 4.0 or 4.6L Block Core FOUND!
Local pick-a-part is apparently unloading its inventory. Got a complete 1999 LR Discovery 4.0L v8 dropped into the back of my minivan for $440, core charges and labor included.
This engine looks unmolested, head gaskets and radiator hose ends look well used. If I’d had this engine first, I might be in a very different place today, financially speaking. |
