I'm posting this info as a warning to others buying parts. If I'm violating a rule of this site I apologize upfront but I need to put out the word.

I've bought a lot of parts online, from Craigs, this Forum and the MGExperience and I've never had an issue till recently and it involved names registered here and on the the BritishV8. I've been shopping for pistons for my Rover 3.5L build. I posted a WTB here and on the MGExperience I received a messege from a Kyle Lewis (Kyle0789) stating:

Contact Travis in Ketucky,he has a Rover 3.5 Piston Set for sale, here's his gmail twilliams00545@gmail.com

I contacted Travis Williams via that email and negotiated $300 for a set of new pistons. Made payment via ZELLE but the payment email I put in registered asTerri Essman (onepackerfan01@yahoo.com), which obviously is not the same person I was emailing too. Too late, payment sent. Last email I've had from him was on 10MAR21 saying he shipped. I've emailed several times requesting shipping status with no response to either email.

Some other things I noticed (too late) was that Kyle Lewis (Kyle0789) registered on the BritishV8 site on 5MAR21, the same day I received the message from him. Also, the same person became a member on this site on 10MAR21 with no posts or action since 11MAR21. Neither Travis Williams or Terri Essman is registered on this either site which seems odd for one selling Rover 3.5L pistons.

Could all be a coincedence and if I receive the parts tomorrow in the mail tomorrow I'll make a formal apology to all, but my gut tells me this was a scam. Not a lot of money, but I really wanted those pistons. Now I'm back searching.

Thanks. I noticed you also reported this on the MG Experience. Buyers beware or, at least, be aware.

Yes, Cast. Summit had for less money but the compression was lower and did not include rings. All said and done it was a reasonable price. Once pistons, block and head measurements are complete I'll determine Cam choice and bearings.
