RV 8 fiberglass front-end body panels
Guys,
My SCCA GT2 race car project is nearly finished - mock-up Rover 3.5 block and new D&D Development bellhousing w/ GM Tremic 5 (Firebird 5 speed) going in next week. New fresh Rover 3.5 V8 nearly completed. We hope to do some testing at MAM, near Omaha in the Spring. BIG PROBLEM No RV 8 front-end fiberglass found yet. I have found only a (vented) fiberglass bonnet from Clive Wheatley in England, but still no wings, front bumper and nose in fiberglass. The Wheatley fiberglass vented bonnet is a huge help for it allows us to plan for Holly carburetor, airfilter and SIR ducting clearances under the hood. I may have to modify a Set of fiberglass Sebring wings from a B GT and create RV 8 wings. Easy fit I'm told, except for the left & right RV 8 head lite surround fixtures (in fiberglass). Any ideas? Would still need the front bumber and nose. We figure we can create our own front spoiler/splitter under the original (fiberglass) bumper. SCCA allows us to run a regulation/spec, SCCA rear wing on the RV 8 as a GT car. This ought to help hold the rear end down. Please help me locate some front-end fiberglass for a RV 8 - flared wings, front bumper and nose. Any advice on B or RV8 fiberglass will be very much appreciated. Phillip G |
