Have you looked into Hardcourt Manifold? Haffakers are hard to come by and used are the same price as a new Hardcourt.

Yes
Willpower 1st choice....flow, manifold height!
Huffaker #2 + intake port size on 300 heads
Harcourt #3 almost as good

Big buck ? item anyways.......Huffaker close in flow, will clean up more? fits 300 heads better = cost maybe

who are you all having revulcanize harmonic balancers?

Come on someone's got one sitting around they'll never use.......I have lots of parts like that, none this unique unfortunatly. Anyone need an MGB OD transmission,MGC short block, head, or auto trans for the manifold? spare olds 215 complete??

I need an auto cross oil pan for 215 olds also.

How handy are you? Have you thought about making a sheet metal intake? Or if you can get one to use to make a mold, you could use a high temp nylon, should make it easy enough to machine. I think RTP has some good high temp nylon, maybe 4405 FR (flame retardent) would be a good one.

Just throwing that out there, might be more project than you want to get into...

The "first" Huffaker manifold was made from fiberglass and clear/high temp resin. They put flourescent dye in the gasolene and used a blacklite strobe, while on the dyno for an inside look of whats really goin- on, as told by Joe Jr.

I have a Huffaker intake that was installed on a TR8 that was new and was tapped for the brake booster. I do have the ultimate paper weight…….a NOS piersberg intake machined by John Eales and NOS repco twin weber manifold adaptor. Oh and just about every bit from the BL motorsport catalog from 1978-1980 for the V8 rally cars except the clothing. Thinking about all the parts, time and money I want to throw up!

David, I have a "Huff"., it belongs to my "Huff"TR8/GT 1 car. Much as I could be tempted to cast up "bottomless" intake manifolds, we are a group of individualist bound by British iron. In other words, getting a solid consensus for height and design-good luck ! Now if a skilled engine guy, like say, Dan Jones were to design same, I might go there. Cheers, roverman.

I suggested that very idea to him. I think he was involved in designing and casting a ford engine fi manifold for some wild project and explained it was more work than he wanted to get into again. What kind of numbers were even made of these manifolds, 50 - 100 ?? Where were these cast? I don't know I'll probably have all I need when engine's completed with or without one of the huffakers, it's just knowing that they're out there compared to most of the others. Like a 1943 s steel penny, a '58 motobicane moped, a '96 Zinfandel, etc.

David, if your "just" after single plane performance, with what's available, I suggest the other 2 brands, or maybe by then, TA ? Good Luck, roverman.

Still looking for huffaker manifold! Anyone have an idea who I might ask that doesn't follow this site? If I were to find someone to let go of the unobtainium manifold what would be a reasonable price to pay? or what are they worth?

How are the aftermarket air conditioning units working? Do they cool you down at all with the top down?

David, You haven't mentioned hp/build, but lowest is Offy single plane, and cheap. Dual Webbers on their 2x2 ? Good Luck, roverman.

Olds 215 +.040 300heads big ferrea valve 200cmf flow @ .500 lift harcourt rockers solid lifter cam design by Dan J pending (350 hp predicted at 7k rpm) D&D engine mounts GM wc T-5 in '78 MGB rdst. Need intake that matchs 300 intake port Huffaker does. All others will need work. Have beautiful set of UK made stainless RV8 headers and pipes that I purchase from D&D for 215 heads before I went the 300 heads route. May trade for Huffaker that works for me if you are interested.

David,

I'm following your posts in hope that you might uncover a 215/3.5 Rover intake manifold that's not up to your standards, but might fit perfectly the simple 4 barrel Holley carb SCCA requirement ..... to replace my conventional Eldebrock manifold.

Keep me in mind.

my best regards,

phillip g

hey phillip
I have stock 4 barrel manifolds for buick and olds 215 if you ever need one but I think the Eldebrock is better than stock??

The intake and exhaust ports on these 300 yeads are just much larger than 215 stuff and thats why I'm looking for things a little different. I will have to choose another type single plane that I can massage if one of these hoarders doesn't let go of a Huffaker!

SS header I have up for sale for that reason also. Jumped the gun buying somethings ahead of the project without knowing it. If I remember correctly I bought them from D&D and Mark said they were the last set of UK made RV8 type he had. They are not the block hugging type. Beautiful welds and not cheap.

Anyone know where I can get a set of ss headers for these 300 heads let me know please. It would be nice if 340 / 350 stuff worked, but I heard not?????

I will let you know if anyone offers me an intake that would help you pedal faster Philip!!!!!!! When's the next race you'll be at?

David,

I'm aiming at an October 16 SCCA race at Hastings Motorsports Park, Hastings, NE. HMP is about a 4 hour tow from KC. Will tow from KC to Hastings on Saturday the 15th of Oct, set up our paddock space, spend the nite in Hastings and race on Sunday - returning to KC late Sunday afternoon/evening.

If you can make it, you can leave your car at my house in KC and there is room for 4 in the tow truck. I hope you might be able to join us. You could probably get back to St.Louis late Sunday evening or early Monday morning, the 17th.

Still much work to be done - mostly with the rear axle/driveshaft conversion. Pretty much everything else is completed.

keep them on track,

phillip g

Just trying to keep this floating at the top in case anyone sees it for the first time or changes their minds.

Any idea how many of these manifolds there might be in the world??????????

Just to keep it interesting here are the flow rates on my 300 heads after port work by Jon Caris and adding 1.775 in and 1.50ex valves.

David, Is it possible, had you ordered a Harcourt or Wilpower 3 months ago, you would have it now ? Offy will easily port to"300" port sizes,(wide plenum/short runners). Your head flow spec's are near identical to my Huffaker/GT 1 heads.Dan Jones has those #'s. Good Luck, roverman.

My MG V8 projects still has many steps to go, so I have time to inquire about special parts I would like. I have found if you ask long enough and enough people you can usually find what you're after. How does the Offy manifold flow in the scheme of things? I would love a manifold with 4 down draft webers also but I'm positive I can't afford that one. Question once again; where were these huffaker manifolds made and how many are out there? Anyone know?
