That's a bit steep Matt. I've purchased 14 of them at an average of about $30 each including shipping.

Dan, I want those fasteners, but I only have a Liberian money order for $1000, can you cash it and send me the $900 change along with the bolts?
This is "brotherly love" as in bend over brother and I'll show you some love!

Just noticed a typo above... I've bought 12, not 14. Average price is good though. eBay & Craigslist are good sources, just search on Omni and Horizon. You'll rarely find flares being advertised, but it'll be pretty obvious when someone is parting one out -- they're usually more than happy to make a few extra bucks off parts they thought were going to go to a crusher.

rficalora,

All right . I'll bite.

Fibreglass flares ?

Where do you find $30.00 B GT fender flares?. And do Dodge Omni flares fit the B ?

The straight man, here.

Philip, the Omni flares are a weld on item, fit pretty well but they do take some body work to really fit well. Photos of the installation on Dan Master's BGT [www.advanceautowire.com] show the process well and a good shot of the rough flares cut from the donor Omni are shown on the Roadmaster board. Here's what the front fenders look like off the car.

Like Bill says, they're weld on. There are a few cars with them you can see on the MG page of this site...

[www.britishv8.org] (has some in progress pics)
[www.britishv8.org] (in process pic)

There may be others, those are just the ones i recall. Probably not what you're after... they're light & may be as light as fiberglass ones, but racing has a way of causing bumps & these are way more work to install & fix than fiberglass. If I were racing, I'd do fiberglass & make molds of them once installed. Then I'd make up about 3-4 extra sets so I'd have spares when I needed them.

It's largely a question of where you look. In a lot of areas, like the DC suburbs where I was last weekend, junkyards seem to have all moved away and there are also very few old cars on the roads. But here in my Colorado neighborhood, there's a derelict Dodge Omni in a backyard down the alley from my house. They'd probably pay me to drag it away. It's often a question of patience too. Some people just aren't willing to wait for a good deal to come along.

Thank you for the info on Dodge Omini flares.

They look great on a B.

Anyone ever make fiberglass molds and sell fully fiberglass versions fort the B ?

Seems to me Dan Masters, if he felt so inclined, could have a few sets of fiberglass
ones made up and sell them like hot cakes. Hint, hint. Could use a set for my GT,
aint gonna pay 1k for flares anywhere though. Just a thought.

Hello everyone i'm new to the website. Basically i was wondering if i could pick your brains about putting some fender flares on my BGT.
Omni flares definitatley seem to be the way to go, the only problem is that living in the UK they're near impossible to find. The other option is VW golf flares but the Omnis look so much better that i think the its worth the hassle of trying to import some.
I was wondering do all Omni models fit, or is there a particular year that works best?,
Would anyone know of anyone with a set for sale?

thanks.

Just saw this on the local Houston craigslist...

[houston.craigslist.org] $100 for the whole car. Could get the car, pull the flares take the rest to a scrap metal yard & have free flares. If I had the time I'd do it myself.
