215 and 4.0 misc. parts, free for the asking
Posted by: Dave R

I am building a 4.0 with buick 300 heads and crank. I have plenty of leftover parts such as 215 and 4.0 cranks, heads, efi intake, 4.0 pistons & rods, rocker arms, you know the stuff. The 215 block has one piston siezed in it. If you need anything let me know and you can have it. I'd prefer to have it go to someone who can use it instead of scrapping it for the aluminum.

I will take to a shipper, you just pay for the shipping. Anything not claimed by July 30 goes to the scrap yard. Btw I'm in Washington state.

Regards,

Dave R.

Dave, Who makes the rear seal adapter ? A 4.6L crank should off-set grind to a 3.4" stroke ? Cheers, roverman.

D&D makes a rear seal adaptor. It's in their catalog as a stock item.

I'd be glad to take the rocker arms if the rocker shafts are in ok shape.

Dave,

Your fairly far away from me then, I'm up north of Burlington. I don't need anything specific, but was thinking about looking through the un-claimed items to see if there is anything that I could use.
Not sure if I'll get down south before the 30th though. If I do, I would like to check back with you to see whats left if that is ok?

Bill

Dennis... 4.0 crank, pistons, rods

But to get this stuff to you, each of you needs to send me a pm to discuss shipping, etc. I haven't received even one address yet.

Hiya mark,

The 215 heads are just plain 'ol Buick standard compression.

The 215 had a 4 bbl manifold on it but I sure don't think the heads are anything special. They look to be in good condition... The engine had been sitting under a guys workbench for 25 years.

According to the D&D website, the Buick heads should be all 37cc units that could use 2 different thickness head gaskets get 2 different CR's (probably for a high compression 4bbl variant and a 2bbl lo compression variant). There was a 54cc head unique to the Buick 300 engine.
The Olds heads came in 3 displacements with the following head casting suffix: 38cc....suffix '534' for 10.75CR, 43cc.....suffix '829' for 10.25CR and a lo compression 51cc head...suffix '746'

You don't happen to have the ECU that ran the EFI by chance?

Mike, I'm keeping the 215 harmonic balancer for use with the 4.0......

Michelle, sorry no ECU. The rest of the EFI is already spoken for.
