All TR8s came with a 3.08 ratio. That includes automatics, standard 5 speeds, and the later FI cars. TR7s came with 3.08, 3.45, or 3.90 depending on the model. The Rover 3500 Vitesse came with a lower ratio, something like 2.83. Have to double check that with the guys from the other side of the pond to make sure.

My lingering/agonizing question is, how much non-shockload hp can a 3.08 or 2.76,(Mike) take ? More tooth contact than 3.90, should be stronger, with less heat build-up. I hate to take out this rear, as it has a cooler and FF axles. Onward, roverman.
