Hi, Tom,

Do you know if your 4.6 Rover long block can accept - easily - a 3.9 crankshaft ?

I may be allowed to build up a 3.9 Rover engine for my SCCA GT2 MG RV8. I'm waiting for an answer from the Competition Racing Board of the SCCA on my petition to be allowed the use of the 3.9 Rover engine instead of the now required 3.5 size engine.

And how much will you need for the 4.6 long block ?

keep them on the track,

phillip g

Phillip, the 4.6 block has larger main bearings for the crank than the 3.5 and 3.9 engines. This change was made starting with the 4.0 blocks.

Phillip,
If you want to use the big bearing block with the small bearing crank. You can have it align bored for the smaller bearings by using the big bearings as spacers. File locating notches in your new "spacers" check for oil hole alignment and you're good to go.
Cheers
Fred

Are the headers still available and if so whose was the manufacturer?

Thanks
