David, I ran the british S/S 215/3.5/3.9/4.2 headers on my 4.8 rover with the Buick 300 crank & heads. The botton of the port is cut off by 5/16 of an inch. The exhaust gasses go to the TOP of the port & a very small amount of gasses are at the bottom of the port. Ran my 4.8 Rover Buick for over 100,000 miles with the british headers. Very good set of headers, by the way.
