LT77 5 speed transmission
Posted by: Dan B

I have a relatively low mileage (approximately 70-75,000) LT77 that came out of my TR7.
The transmission is located in WV. Price is $750. I will consider offers.

Here is another angle. Listed price is negotiable.

Carl told me last night that the price on this transmission is too high. I don't disagree. The listed price is a starting point for negotiations. If you need a good LT77, give me pm. I won't be offended.

I'm curious... Did you get $750 for it?

That's cause it's a TR7 tranny. :)

I almost used one in my conversion, but while at Glen Towery's shop in '98 I found out they used a fluid pump. Still a good tranny. Lot of people use them. Coming from Muncies, though, I thought only automatics used a pump. Didn't see the point, went with a T-5.

I expect it'd bring a lot higher price with a V8 bellhousing attached.

If you had one...
That alone would bring more than the sale price above.

As my Dad used to say, "thats one percent".
Cause you'll only do that once.
I love that man.

Dan! Thanks!!

I only just now made the connection between this thread, the forum, and the deal we brokered. Goes to show you that too many hours at work CAN rot your brain! (I DID think that your name sounded familiar, though. LOL!!)

Don't feel too bad about letting it go for 250. I've bought them cheaper. It IS the bellhousing that gets the big bucks. Had to shell out 350 for the last housing I bought and I'm searching for yet another.

Good tranny. It's going into the '67 GT behind a carbureted 215.

Anyway, thanks again. And if it makes you feel any better I'll pay you a reasonable amount for the clutch fork if you ever find it. :-)
