SOLD - 1978 MGB w/ v8
For sale: My 1978 MGB Convertible with clear OH title- not your stock MGB, car is 99% rust free (just allowing for a spot here or there on the undercarriage), original paint so it has see a few years along with some nicks and scratches, by no means perfect but perfect for a daily ride about. A couple years ago it underwent a V8 engine conversion, currently has a newly build Land Rover Aluminum v8 engine powering it attached to a Chevy Camaro T5 transmission. Runs great, along with the new engine it has a new exhaust, fuse-box, starter, alternator, aluminum radiator and many other new items that were added prior to the conversion. The rubber bumpers were removed and a chrome one added on the rear currently no bumper on the front also the chrome front grill, it is more of a custom car, the stock seats were removed and Fiero ones put in, they weren't recovered but they have seat covers on them, wheels are from a Datsun (not stock MG). It currently has a black canvas top instead of the standard vinyl one along with a newer carpet set also along with all the suspension bushings changed over to the red poly ones prior to conversion. Since rebuild the car has less that 1000 miles on the engine but runs great, health reasons are the driver for the sale, please feel free to email me with questions and I will get back to you. Asking $7500.00 but willing to talk.

Hi Michelle,
Sorry to hear of your health situation. I'm interested in the 1978 MGB V8 Roadster you have for sale. I live quite a distance from you in Long Island, N.Y. so I will probably have numerous questions for you via other communication forms other than in person first before actually inspecting the car. Are you up to it? |

Michelle, hope all works out for you. Had to sell my B V8 due to poor health also. consider another British car if accessibility is an issue. Mine is not an MGB but works for me.

Re: 1978 MGB w/ v8
Ah, I hate to hear you sold yours Kelly, it was an awesome car. Sadly due to health issues with my husband the MG just isn't a necessity any longer. That and having broken my ankle a couple years ago the pivot up and out isn't much fun any more.
Hi Artie, Please let me know what questions you have I will do my best to answer them, you can send me a pm with any you have. Also here is a link to a few more pictures I took this evening for someone else who was interested. [s306.photobucket.com] |

Re: 1978 MGB w/ v8
Happy to report the car is sold and that Artie is going to take good care of her! She made the road trip back to NY evidently so that is a good start :).

Re: SOLD - 1978 MGB w/ v8
Glad it is staying in the Umstead family. Hopefully this is not the last we hear from the Pierces though.

Re: SOLD - 1978 MGB w/ v8
Artie used the infamous GPS to get him home from Ohio. We were worried he'd end up back at the wrong Umstead but fortunately that didn't happen! 😆
