WTB: one Buick 300 Aluminum Head

I have a mismatched set, one in fine condition, the other heavily corroded.

Would like to know if I can buy a single head for less than the cost to weld up and rehab the dodgy one.

Surely someone out there has an orphan?

FWIW. unless it's just at the "dogbones/ coolant transfer", at each end of head, don't waste your time/money. It's where you don't see bad corrosion, is the real peril.

Art.

I’m guessing I know the answer, but what do you think of this head— can it be saved?

All the corrosion seems to be near the gasket surfaces— deeper in the coolant passages it looks pretty smooth.

"Looks" like galvanic reaction. Water or old-style coolant formula. Steel head gasket, alum. head and heavy amp flow,(ground at front of block, starter at back). You might learn more on hidden thicknesses with sonic tester. When clean, these heads weld-up great. For hi-perf., I would weld a "bridge" in center of dog bone. When heads are pristine clean in coolant areas, you can seal with, "egg keep", (sodium carbonate) ?
Good Luck, art.
