1971 FX4
Just registered today, Great site. I was wondering if anyone has done a conversion on this model .
I am in the process of bringing one home without a motor or trans but everything else is there. I dont think I could build anything more unique. Thanks Dennis Douville |

Re: 1971 FX4
A 1971 Austin-Healey FX4? Last Austin-Healey rolled off the assembly line in 1967, but a Google search identified the FX4 as an Austin taxi. And at least one guy has put a SBC in his: [www.elitelondontaxis.co.uk]

Re: 1971 FX4
Thanks to ALL who respond .
I have the Austin Taxi FX4 In my shop now. I have been involved with racing a DIRT modified with my son for the past 18 years. We decided to retire from racing this past Sept. We sold the race car but I still have the motors we ran. I am just getting started on this project , and I have a LOT to LEARN ! I will try to post some pics soon . My son is more computer savy than I so this may take a while . Thanks again Dennis |

Re: 1971 FX4
I have located the ID plate on the right frt frame rail just behind the steering box , it reads
Carbodies Chassis # FX4DR 19053, Since this is Not a Healey, perhaps this thread could be moved to the " Other British Cars " forum Thanks Dennis |

Re: 1971 FX4
Cool! I like the quirky idea of hot rodding one of these. I'm really looking forward to seeing how it turns out. It looks like some delicious problems to solve to get a 351 under the hood. Cool!
