Mk2 Jaguar for the wife
Posted by: blurooster

I resently bought a 1962 MK2 in AL and started it for my wife.
The 383 stroker is in, the aluminum radiator is in and the new
rear end is on site.
I have started the new wiring, fuses and relays.
I will post pics as soon as I resize a few

Congratulations, the MK2 is a great looking car - sometimes I still wish I had kept mine.

A few more pics, she is coming along nicely and if I had fewer projects it would be done.

Looks really great.

I am also doing a V8 into a MK2. SBF

I like the position of your engine. I slid my SBF very far back, which I guess is easier for me since I have a front distributor, and my front sump section of the oil pan limited me.

Are you going to run headers or a stock exhaust manifold? What transmission?

Is the original Jaguar rear end a problem spot? I plan on leaving mine, unless I blow it up!!!!
I was thinking that with the thin tires I have on the car, I would most likely burn rubber before breaking something.

Looking forward to seeing your progress!

I replaced the rear end with a more road friendly gear, 3.42:1 with discs. The reason a went Chevy was the rear sump pan. Sanderson tight fit headers will be run, left side is all good, right side tight but do-able. 700r4 trans w/ 3000 stall.

New alternator checked bad so a rebuild is in order. Drive shaft is up next for a cut as soon as I get counter space. I have so much junk!!!

Right side nearing completion, passenger side is easy.
